Prior to lockdown, both teams were in very different form. United were climbing the table and on an excellent run, whereas Spurs were dropping like a stone.
The enforced break has benefited both teams, however, with key players back from what had previously appeared to be season-ending injuries.
Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba return for United, where they will slot in with new signing Bruno Fernandes – whose impact has been vast since his January arrival.
For Spurs, Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min are back, as well as Moussa Sissoko in midfield. That adds bite in the middle and quality up front.
It is the latter department where Spurs were really struggling before the break, but if Kane and Son get back to their best form, this could be a strong end of season.
United will have lost momentum from the forced stop, but they go into this match as favourites thanks to the form they had previously found.
The big Europa League wins can skew the stats a little, but their current unbeaten run also includes victories against Manchester City.
A win in this game will keep them firmly on track for a shot at qualifying for Champions League football next season.

Manchester United’s form before the break was excellent, so they are hard to bet against.
Dele Alli will be suspended for an ill-thought-out social media post at the start of the coronavirus outbreak. Giovani Lo Celso faces a late fitness test, while Spurs are not rushing Troy Parrott back to fitness. Japhet Tanganga and Juan Foyth look set to miss out. They do have Harry Kane back, however – the England captain is one of the highest-profile players to have benefited from the enforced season break. Heung-Min Son is also back in contention.
Harry Kane – It is a huge bonus for Spurs to have the England captain and their star striker back up front, where he had previously been expected to miss the end of the season.
Son Heung-Min – Another player who has had the break to regain his fitness and now needs to find some form again.
Gedson Fernandes – The highly-anticipated January signing did not make a big impact prior to shutdown but will be raring to restart.
Tottenham were without a win in six consecutive games before the season was paused. Their most recent game was a 3-0 away defeat to RB Leipzig, while their last Premier League game saw them draw 1-1 at Burnley – Dele Alli scoring a penalty in that game.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed both Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones will be missing for this game, but United otherwise have a fully-fit squad to choose from – including fit-again Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba.
Marcus Rashford – Won many fans for his social campaigning off the pitch in recent weeks and the England striker will hope he can return to the headlines on the pitch too.
Bruno Fernandes – A pivotal signing in United’s season – it is no coincidence his arrival coincided with such an upturn in form.
Paul Pogba – The French midfielder was out of favour and out of sorts before his injuries, but the break and Fernandes’ arrival could be exactly the boost he needs.
Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 11 matches in all competitions. Their last league game saw Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay score in a 2-0 home win against Manchester City, while Odion Ighalo, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Mason Greenwood and Andreas Pereira all scored in their most recent match – a 5-0 Europa League win away to LASK.
