Despite both sides’ previous European successes, this will actually be their first meeting in European football.
You can not say either of these teams did not deserve their place in this Europa League Final. Both ended their domestic campaigns well and have carried that form to Germany with them.
Sevilla are now unbeaten in their last 20 matches and have started to turn what was a flurry of draws into wins.
They came from behind to see off Manchester United in the last round, and wins against Roma and Wolves showed their qualities too.
Inter, meanwhile, saw off Getafe, Bayer Leverkusen and Shakhtar Donetsk – bulldozing the latter aside ruthlessly.
Romelu Lukaku continued his excellent goalscoring season up front, Lautaro Martinez scored two of his own alongside him – each grabbing an assist too – and they also kept yet another clean sheet.
As with Sevilla, the excellent form is a continuation of how they finished the Serie A season, where Antonio Conte’s side have already proved they will be challengers to Juventus for the title next season.
Conte has put his stamp firmly on this side now, and the results have showed as the defence has tightened right up and their attacking football has paid dividends at the other end.
Sevilla are in fine form themselves, but there is just something a little more about the momentum Inter have built up that makes the Serie A side favourites.
It is ten years since their last European trophy – that wait for another could be over very shortly.

Sevilla were unchanged for their quarter-final and semi-final wins and could stick with the same starting XI for the final, despite Luuk de Jong’s winning goal against United.
Lucas Ocampos – Scored his 17th goal of the season in the quarter-final win against Wolves to continue an excellent season in the front three.
Yassine Bounou – Outstanding in goal in the last round as Sevilla continued their unbeaten streak, which has been built around some top defensive form.
Youssef En-Nesyri – Scored in the win against Roma and has ten for the season, but he offers plenty in attack.
Sevilla are now unbeaten in their last 20 matches and have won eight of their last nine. In this competition, they beat Roma 2-0 in the last-16, Wolves 1-0 in the quarter-final and then, last time out, Suso and Luuk de Jong scored as they came from 1-0 down to beat Manchester United 2-1.
Unchanged last time out, Inter – who only have Matias Vecino – could stick with that same XI again. That would mean Christian Eriksen settling for a place on the bench, alongside the likes of Alexis Sanchez – who was fit enough for the bench.
Romelu Lukaku – The Belgian striker continued an excellent season up front with two goals and an assist against Shakhtar last time out, putting the seal on a fine win. He has four goals in the last three games.
Lautaro Martinez – Continued his own excellent season up front, scoring twice and assisting one as he and Lukaku showed how their partnership has thrived – each set the other up for one of their two goals.
Diego Godin – Seven clean sheets in their last nine matches is a testament to the excellent defence Antonio Conte has built and the Uruguayan centre-back is a key part of that.
Inter’s dominant win against Shakhtar Donetsk last time out means they have now won six in a row and gone 11 unbeaten in all competitions. Romelu Lukaku has scored in each of the last three rounds in this competition, against Getafe, Bayer Leverkusen and twice against Donetsk. Lautaro Martinez also scored twice last time out and Danilo D’Ambrosio netted the other.
