Crystal Palace pulled off a shock 3-2 win on their last trip to the Etihad just before Christmas last season, but that is their only win in the last 11 matches between these two teams. City have won nine of the other ten, including a 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park earlier this season. On that occasion, Gabriel Jesus and David Silva scored in quick succession just before half-time to earn an away win.

Manchester City are back on track, with five wins in a row, and all they can do now is keep winning games with the title realistically out of reach.
Win they did last time out, however, and they did so in style too – thrashing Aston Villa as Sergio Aguero set more goalscoring records with another hat-trick.
With Aguero back to his best and Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus scoring alongside him, Pep Guardiola has some tough selection decisions to make now.
The team which put six past Villa did not include Raheem Sterling or Bernardo Silva – the latter having been instrumental to their win at Old Trafford in mid-week.
Given the tight turnaround between this game and the away match against Sheffield United, the latter two could be saved for the Blades.
Whoever starts, however, Pep Guardiola’s side will take confidence not just from their recent wins but the manner of them too.
With Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane closing on a return to fitness too, it could be a very bright second-half to the season for City.
And while the league title might be gone, success breeds success and matches against Crystal Palace are the exact sort of games City need to avoid slipping up in.
They did just that when they last met at the Etihad, but City have beaten Palace twice since and can grab another win in this game.

Manchester City hit six last weekend and are right back in top form. They need to build that momentum now and a big win against injury-hit Crystal Palace would certainly help in that regard.
Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane but neither of City’s long-term absentees is expected to feature until next month. Pep Guardiola otherwise has a full squad to choose from, and he might be tempted to pair Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero up front again after City put six past Aston Villa last weekend. Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling are both pushing for recalls, however, after being rested.

They started the New Year by beating Everton at home, before seeing off Port Vale in the FA Cup and beating Manchester United in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg. Last weekend, Riyad Mahrez scored twice, Sergio Aguero hit a record-breaking hat-trick and Gabriel Jesus netted the other in a 6-1 away win.
Roy Hodgson is besieged by injury concerns, with Andros Townsend and Jeffrey Schlupp not expected back until next month and Joel Ward a couple of weeks away still too. Scott Dann, Patrick van Aanholt, Mamdou Sakho and now Max Meyer are also sidelined and Luka Milivojevic will miss the match through suspension. Christian Benteke could be fit to return, however, in some better news for Palace. Cenk Tosun featured off the bench last time out and could also be in line for a start.

Crystal Palace are without a win in their last four games but they have drawn three in a row in the league – their only loss was in the FA Cup at home to Derby County. Either side, Connor Wickham’s late equaliser earned a point at Norwich, and Jordan Ayew ensured the same result – a 1-1 draw – at home to Arsenal last time out.
