However, they could once again be trailing the defending champions should the Citizens win at Crystal Palace before this one kicks off. Liverpool, such has been the strength of their season, have already clinched a Champions League place, something they had to wait until the final day of the season to do last term. Chelsea will start play in third place this weekend, but they could be in fourth when play starts in this match. They sit on 66 points currently, a stats that means that even winning every match from here on in and Liverpool losing them all would only see them rise as high as third. Jurgen Klopp continue to be without midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is still working his way back from the knee injury he suffered last year.
