LCFC vs BUR Betting Tips

Leicester earned victory in difficult circumstances last time out to return to winning ways, and while the game was never about the result it was a much-needed win.

Burnley, meanwhile, have hit a sticky patch – without a win since September, it is now 13 goals conceded in three games and England international James Tarkowski’s absence at the back will not help their cause.

Demarai Gray, Leicester’s match winner last weekend, was also the only goalscorer the last time Burnley visited the King Power Stadium and forms part of a dangerous attacking unit for the Foxes.

With Tarkowski out, Gibson still not fit and Burnley shipping goals, they will hope to build on the momentum of last week’s win and earn another victory.

Also counting against Burnley is their away form this season. They have won just once in ten away games, including their Europa League trips and a Carabao Cup exit at Burton.

As with last week, Leicester’s frame of mind will be important as they return to the stadium at which their chairman died just two weeks ago.

But they paid tribute to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha with a good performance, a clean sheet and a win at Cardiff and can do likewise at home to Burnley on Saturday.

Leicester City vs Burnley Recommended bets with odds

Leicester are odds-on favourites to beat Burnley at a best price of 1/2 with Betfair, and that is fair enough with the Foxes on home soil.

Burnley’s big issue of late has been conceding too many goals, and over 2.5 goals on Saturday will return 10/11 with Bet365.

Jamie Vardy is favourite to find the net, at 19/20 with Betway and Ladbrokes, but Demarai Gray was their match winner last weekend and in this fixture last season.

Gray is 5/2 with Paddy Power, Betfair, Betway and 888sport.

Leicester City vs Burnley Prediction

Burnley’s poor away form makes it hard to back the Clarets as they travel to the King Power Stadium. Leicester can make it two wins from two.

Correct Score Prediction: Leicester City 3-1 Burnley

Leicester City Team News

Daniel Amartey faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a broken ankle, with Ricardo Pereira returning to replace him last time out. Wes Morgan was also back from his two-match ban, having already been sent off twice this season, and Nampy Mendy came back into the midfield. Kelechi Iheanacho dropped to the bench, but could return in place of Marc Albrighton at home to Burnley.

Leicester City Key Players

James Maddison – Three goals and two assists in 11 games since signing from Norwich City in the summer.
Jamie Vardy – Back in the starting line-up and looking to add to his three goals in ten games so far this season.
Demarai Gray – Scored the only goal of the game last weekend to earn victory, just as he did the last time Burnley were at the King Power too.

Leicester City Team Form

After three games without a win, Leicester returned to winning ways in emotional circumstances last weekend, as Demarai Gray scored the only goal of the game against Cardiff to earn a 1-0 win. It followed the helicopter crash which caused the death of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others the week before, as he left the King Power Stadium following Leicester’s 1-1 draw with West Ham - Wilfried Ndidi having equalised late on to earn a point. Leicester had previously lost 2-1 at home to Everton and 3-1 away to Arsenal.

Leicester City Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Burnley Team News

Ben Gibson has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hernia and fellow defender James Tarkowski could also be sidelined after going to see a specialist for his own hernia this week. Phil Bardsley, Stephen Ward and Nick Pope are already sidelined. It could mean a return for Kevin Long at the back. Jack Cork is a slight doubt, having missed the game against West Ham as well, with Ashley Westwood replacing him. Matej Vydra started that game and could be retained in attacking midfield, while fit-again Robbie Brady is another option to bring in.

Burnley Key Players

Sam Vokes – The last player to score a winner for Burnley, at Cardiff, and also the goalscorer in the draw with Huddersfield.
Johan Berg Gudmundsson – Scored his second goal of the season in the draw at West Ham, with his two strikes complemented by five assists and counting.
Joe Hart – The ex-England keeper has conceded 13 goals in his last three matches and will want to get back to keeping clean sheets.

Burnley Team Form

Burnley have now lost their last three games in a row and are without a win since a 2-1 success at Cardiff at the end of September – Johan Berg Gudmundsson and Sam Vokes scoring in that 2-1 win. Vokes opened the scoring at home to Huddersfield but the Clarets could only draw 1-1 before heavy defeats to Manchester City (5-0) and Chelsea (4-0) followed. Last time out, Gudmundsson and Chris Wood cancelled out West Ham’s first two goals at the London Stadium, but the Hammers scored twice late on to earn a 4-2 win. Burnley have now conceded 13 goals in three games.

Burnley Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-4-1-1

Leicester paid tribute to late chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha with an emotional 1-0 win in Cardiff and now return to home soil against a Burnley team who have not travelled well this season. The Clarets are without a win in their last four games now, and Leicester can build on the platform last week’s win gives them.
Burnley have won just one of their ten away games this season and that was at struggling Cardiff.
