Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Leicester are at 5/6 to win, a draw is at 5/2, and a Brighton win is at 10/3.

Leicester will enter this match in a comfortable spot in the table despite a horrible run of form in the last month or so that has seen Puel leave.  The Foxes are on 32 points in the league, still a good ways ahead of the relegation battle, but they are going to come into this match on the back of picking up just a single point from their last five fixtures.  That run has seen them slide down to 12th in the standings, and if some teams beneath them get it together and that keeps up, they could end up being forced to fight for their lives in the division.  One thing is unquestionable at present: Puel had been in trouble for quite some time.  The French boss was surely going to go, and it was just going to be a question of when not if.  The trigger has been pulled now, and he is out the door.

Brighton will begin this round of midweek fixtures all the way down in 16th place as the table sits.  The Seagulls had initially looked to be fairly safe from being included in the relegation battle, but results of late have seen them slide down and that will be forcing them to look over their shoulders a bit.  With just three points separating themselves from the bottom three, though they do have a game in hand, they will be a little nervy.  No wins and just a single point in their last five Prem matches leaves them in a very bad spot for this match.

The Foxes’ was pretty good for a while, but in the last month or two, it has taken a severe beating.  As things lie right now, they have the 17th best record out of 20 teams in the division, having taken only 14 points from 13 fixtures held at the King Power.  The real problems have started recently, as they have lost each of their last four games there, including the 1-4 demolition job against Palace on Saturday.  They have only scored 14 goals in front of their own supporters, a stat that is damning and sure to contribute to Puel’s eventual dismissal.

The Seagulls’ away record this season has been one of their biggest and most glaring weaknesses.  So far, they have just eight points from 13 matches, with nine losses coming.  Four of those have come in the last five that they have played, and they have just one point to show from that stretch.  They’ve been more than solid at home, to be fair, but they have simply lacked bite on their travels and will be searching for that here.  With a lot of extra time to prepare, this might be seen as the ideal time for them to rise up and get a massive three points.

Glenn Murray to score anytime, via Betfair, is at 3.1.

Ladbrokes have both teams registering a goal at evens.

Leicester City vs Brighton Prediction

The King Power might have once been a fortress, but nowadays it’s not quite as tough to get a result.  With no new manager named as of yet, the new ‘bounce’ might not kick in just yet.  It’s a golden chance for the Seagulls, and they can edge it for all three points.

Correct Score Prediction: Leicester 1-2 Brighton

Leicester Team News

Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler will take charge of the side after Puel’s dismissal, and they will be without left back Ben Chilwell and midfielders Daniel Amartey and Marc Albrighton through injuries.

Leicester Key Man

It’s time to get back to basics for Leicester, and they can do that by going more route 1 and looking for Jamie Vardy up front.  The great Dane has not been having the sort of impact needed, but they can get him firing again by knocking more balls to him and letting him run into the channels.  Even with a bit of a down season he’s grabbed eight goals.  James Maddison has been a break out star this term, but it’s been a slog of late for him.  He’s got five goals and four assists, and he’s another player that can pull them out of their current run.

Leicester Team Form

Leicester have four losses and a draw in their last five matches:

1-4 home loss vs Crystal Palace
3-1 loss at Tottenham
0-1 home loss vs Manchester United
1-1 draw at Liverpool
4-3 loss at Wolves

Leicester Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-4-2

Brighton Team News

Chris Hughton has had time to prepare his team for this match, and they have had time to recover.  They look set to have no one out for this one, giving him a full side to pick from as they look to get away from the relegation zone.

Brighton Key Man

If you’re Brighton, this is the time to go for it.  No point in coming for just a point with the Foxes out of sorts.  That should mean both Glenn Murray and Jurgen Locadia get unleashed.  The former is a veteran that will beat you by popping up in the right place.  He’s grabbed ten goals in his evergreen state this term, continuing to age like fine wine.  Locadia, meanwhile, is much more inconsistent, but he’s got the pace to rock the boat and upset a Leicester defence that can be caught flat-footed.  He needs a breakout moment, and this could be it for him.

Brighton Team Form

Brighton have two wins, two losses, and a draw in their last five matches:

2-1 home win vs Derby County (FA Cup)
1-3 home loss vs Burnley
1-3 extra time win at West Brom (FA Cup)
0-0 home draw vs Watford
4-2 loss at Fulham

Brighton Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

While everything points toward Leicester as far as the stats go, there is one thing going in Brighton's favor. The Seagulls haven't beaten the Foxes in the Prem so far, and they have had a horrid run of late (especially when playing away), but they do have the luxury of time on their hands as well as a side that just fired its manager. They have had time off, while Leicester were playing on Saturday and will come into this a little bit tired. The Foxes are tough to play at, but they are inconsistent enough to drop points.
Leicester are unbeaten in three PL fixtures against Brighton, drawing the last meeting in November and winning the preceding two.
