Juventus will win this match.
Historically, Juventus have more than half of their matches against Lazio – 56% to be precise – dating back more than 50 years. Of the 53 fixtures, Juve have triumphed in 28, Lazio 13 and there have been 12 stalemates.
The Old Lady haven’t lost at Lazio in their last five visits; winning four and drawing the other.

Lazio were oddly vulnerable at home in 201516, and only managed to claim 33 of the 57 points available to them. Six defeats in their 19 fixtures suggests that Juve will have nothing to fear on Saturday; nor would you expect them to given the head-to-head record.
Juventus were poor in the opening weeks of last season and so their stats have been skewed somewhat as a result, but they topped the ‘away table’, winning 13/19 and scoring at an average of two goals per game, so they are good value to claim another three points here.
The ease with which they’ve handled trips to the Stadio Olimpico, and even at this exploratory stage of the Serie A campaign they will surely take the spoils back to Turin.
Finding an angle with which to back Juventus is key, and it looks like there is one straight off the bat: they are 4/5, which is more than fair given their chances of winning here.
Lazio have failed to score in four of their last five matches against Juve at the Stadio Olimpico, so wagers on Juventus to win to nil at a generous 21/10 are encouraged too.
Serie A has an unfair reputation for being a low-scoring, dour league, and we can throw that out of the window straight away with the knowledge that 60% of last week’s games went Over 2.5 goals. With this mark available at 11/8 in this fixture, we’re happy to use the stats to our advantage.
It should have been so easy for Lazio last week at Atalanta in their Serie A opener; particularly when they were 3-0 up at half time. But a second-half rally by the hosts left the Rome outfit clinging on, and eventually they settled for a 4-3 win. They won’t find Juventus in such forgiving mood this week however.

It was business as usual for the reigning league champions last week, and while Fiorentina may life difficult for them the Old Lady finished 2-1 winners. Massimiliano Allegri’s side looked like they’d not been away all summer, and once Higuain returns to full fitness they should be almost unstoppable.
