LAZ vs BOL Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Lazio are at 2.10 to win, a draw is at 3.25, and a Bologna win is at 3.80.

Lazio enter this match off the back of a euphoric seventh Coppa Italia victory having defeated Atalanta in midweek.  That will buoy them greatly, but they will nonetheless still be disappointed with the way the league season has ended up going.  They are in eighth place here on 58 points, four off the pace of sixth place Roma, who are in the final European spot.  Even with two wins, this one and the match against Torino, they are not likely to get enough help to make the top six.

Bologna come into this match in 13th place on 40 points so far.  They have a very minor worry to contend with, however, as they could still, theoretically, end up falling down and being relegated.  That would take a ton of terrible results, including those below them surpassing them and for them to lose in this match and against Napoli.  Those are not unlikely propositions, but even if they do get zero points, they should still be safe as they have done just enough thanks to winning three of their last four and getting ten points from their last 15 on offer.

Le Aquile have had a very routine, decent home record this season, having earned 31 points from 18 games so far.  They have won just half of their home matches, so it’s not been much to write about.  They have fallen off the pace in the European battle of late thanks to coming undone at home, losing two in a row and only winning one of their last four.  That has to be improved or they could lose some of their more important players (yet again).

I Veltri have simply not produced very much of substance this term when playing on the road.  They have only taken 12 points from 18 matches, with just two measly wins occurring.  One of those two did come in their last five matches, but not much can be made out of that due to the fact that they have only four points from that span.  It’s just about been good enough, however, to keep them afloat in the division, barring a disaster/miracle (depending on who you are, that is!).

Betfair have Immobile scoring two or more at 7.0 odds.

Ladbrokes have no for both sides scoring at 6/5.

Lazio vs Bologna Prediction

Lazio are not the most perfect team in Europe, but they can be a major pain to anyone on their day.  And against a team like Bologna, while at home, they don’t even have to be quite as good.  That propels them to a comfortable win in the penultimate fixture of the season.

Correct Score Prediction: Lazio 2-0 Bologna

Lazio Team News

Simone Inzaghi will be without left back Jordan Lukaku and center midfielder Valon Berisha due to knee issues.  Center back Stefan Radu will be ineligible thanks to suspension.

Lazio Key Man

Ciro Immobile hasn’t had quite the season he had last term, but the Italian marksman remains an ever present threat going forward having scored 14 times already this term.  On top of that, he has five assists, so he’s very much one that will keep Bologna’s defenders up late at night.  Creatively, a great deal of work is done by former Liverpool man Luis Alberto in the center of the park.  He has contributed with ten assists so far, as well as helping them in the buildup and defensive portions of the game.

Lazio Team Form

Lazio have four wins and a loss in their last five matches:

0-2 win at Atalanta (Coppa Italia)
1-2 win at Cagliari
1-3 home loss vs Atalanta
1-2 win at Sampdoria
0-1 win at AC Milan (Coppa Italia)

Lazio Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 3-5-2

Bologna Team News

Sinisa Mihajlovic is missing right back Federico Mattiello due to injury, while left back Mitchell Dijks is set to miss out via suspension.

Bologna Key Man

Riccardo Orsolini kept up what has been an exemplary season last weekend as he scored his seventh goal of the season.  Add that to the five assists that he has, the highest in each category on the team, and you have a player that can make you stand up and notice him.  Eric Pulgar, a lesser known Chilean star compared to Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal, is another that can have an impact.  He’s scored six goals and dished two assists as well to help show that Chile have more hope than just what this ‘golden’ generation brought to the table.

Bologna Team Form

Bologna have three wins, a loss, and a draw in their last five matches:

4-1 home win vs Parma
2-1 loss at AC Milan
3-1 home win vs Empoli
3-0 home win vs Sampdoria
0-0 draw at Fiorentina

Bologna Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Both teams have a little bit of a reason to keep playing on here, apart from the pride factor, so this isn't a total dead rubber match. That being said, Lazio are the much more likely of the two to grab a win. Bologna have very rarely been a threat when on the road, and that will benefit the Rome side in this particular encounter. A win for them, to follow up their Coppa Italia lifting, would be more than ideal ahead of the summer.
Bologna have gathered ten points from their last four matches (3W, 1D, 1L), accounting for a quarter of their season total so far.
