LCFC vs CPFC Betting Tips

Leicester City’s season is fizzling out once again, with the Foxes without a win in six games – of which they have lost five – and out of both cup competitions.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are just one place behind them in the Premier League but in need of points to avoid being sucked back into the relegation battle. There are five points between the 12th-placed Foxes and the 13th-placed Eagles, but just three between Palace and the final relegation place.

Roy Hodgson’s side travel to the King Power Stadium in much better form, however – unbeaten in their last five games and with options up front to combat their early-season lack of goals.

Where once they relied on Wilfried Zaha, they have won in his absence through suspension (though he has scored on his last two appearances too), and have on-loan Michy Batshuayi leading their line.

Christian Benteke – who scored in both games against Leicester last season – is fit again, while Andros Townsend is in great form and Jeffrey Schlupp and Luka Milivojevic have chipped in with goals from midfield.

The Foxes saw Jamie Vardy get back to goalscoring ways last time out, albeit having earlier missed a penalty with his first touch after coming off the bench, and their lack of FA Cup fixture has given them extra time to ponder their recent form.

Palace’s extra fixture has not been a burden, however, allowing them to continue their good form and eating up the final match of Zaha’s ban for his red card against Southampton too.

On their current form, even with home advantage, it is difficult to back Leicester – especially when you then look at the recent results between these sides.

Palace have scored nine goals against Leicester without reply since the Foxes last won in this fixture. Looking at the form book, that statistic could be extended in this fixture too.

Crystal Palace vs Leicester City Recommended bets with odds

Leicester’s home advantage makes them favourites to win this one, but the form book suggests Crystal Palace could be worth backing. They are 5/2 to win with Betfair.

Unbeaten in their last five matches, backing Palace to win and draw not bet will still return a healthy 7/5 with Betfair, Paddy Power and 888sport too.

Leicester’s recent defeats have come in tough games, but their lack of goals must be becoming a concern for Claude Puel. You can back against both teams to score at 10/11 with Bet365.

Palace are hardly prolific either, however. Under 2.5 goals will return 7/10 with 888sport.

Wilfried Zaha is back for Palace, having scored in each of his last two matches, and he is a best price of 14/5 with Betway to score at any time. Michy Batshuayi, who will lead the line, is 10/3 with Betway.

Leicester City vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Leicester’s poor recent form makes it difficult to back them, especially with Crystal Palace going into this game unbeaten in their last five matches.

Correct Score Prediction: Leicester City 0-2 Crystal Palace

Leicester City Team News

Marc Albrighton’s hamstring injury has turned out to be more serious than initially suggested. He will now not feature until the end of the season. Daniel Amartey is another long-term absentee, though he may be back next month. Monaco loanee Youri Tielemans made his debut last time out, while Jamie Vardy is pushing for a start after scoring (having also missed a penalty) as a substitute last time out.

Leicester City Key Players

Demarai Gray – The tricky winger injects pace and energy into the Leicester attack, and he also scored in the defeat to Wolves recently.
Jamie Vardy – His goal in the defeat at Wembley last time out was his eighth of the season so far.
Harry Maguire – A towering presence at the back and a threat from set pieces at the other end, the England centre-back will be busy against the Palace forwards.

Leicester City Team Form

An FA Cup defeat to Newport County has started a bad run of form for Leicester, who are still without a win since. Their only point was an impressive one, away to Liverpool courtesy of Harry Maguire’s header, but they have lost two tough fixtures – a 1-0 loss to Manchester United and a 3-1 defeat to Tottenham most recently, despite Jamie Vardy getting back to goalscoring ways.

Leicester City Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Crystal Palace Team News

Connor Wickham has suffered another injury setback and therefore joins Pape Souare and Julian Speroni on the Palace injury list. Wilfried Zaha is back from his ban, however, and could slot in for Jordan Ayew. Michy Batshuayi started up front in last week’s FA Cup win and the on-loan Belgian could continue there, ahead of fit-again countryman Christian Benteke.

Crystal Palace Key Players

Andros Townsend – Set up the second goal in the FA Cup defeat of Doncaster at the weekend to continue what has been a strong season for the former England international.
Michy Batshuayi – The pacey Belgian may have failed to make an impression for Chelsea but his ability – and goalscoring prowess – has not often been questioned.
Luka Milivojevic – Set up the first goal last weekend, while his penalty-taking ability means he has amassed a decent goals scored tally too.

Crystal Palace Team Form

Crystal Palace have not lost since their 4-3 defeat to Liverpool – winning three and drawing two of their subsequent five matches. The Eagles beat Doncaster Rovers 2-0 in the FA Cup last time out, with Jeffrey Schlupp and Max Meyer scoring, while they drew 1-1 with West Ham United in their most-recent league game courtesy of Wilfried Zaha’s strike. That followed a 2-0 win at home to Fulham, in which Milivojevic and Schlupp both scored.

Crystal Palace Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

Leicester have found their points have dried up, with just one draw and five defeats from their last six matches. Crystal Palace, by contrast, are unbeaten in their last five and now just one place behind the Foxes in the table. Palace are the form team and can earn more points on the road.
Leicester have lost five of their last six matches in all competitions and drawn the other.
