Burnley have not beaten Spurs since 2010 – Tottenham have won six and drawn three since then, including their last-minute 1-0 win, courtesy of Christian Eriksen’s goal, in December. Spurs have now won 46 matches to Burnley’s 40 in the history of this fixture, with 27 draws. The last time they met at Turf Moor, Harry Kane scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 Spurs win.

Burnley have been in vastly improved form in 2019 and remain unbeaten in the Premier League since the turn of the year.
Their one defeat in that time was in the FA Cup against Manchester City, however, and Spurs – albeit against a stronger Clarets side than was fielded that day – will pose a big threat too.
Mauricio Pochettino’s third-placed Spurs have won their last four in a row, including the win against Borussia Dortmund last time out.
Since the twin disappointment of being knocked out of the two domestic cups in consecutive games, Spurs have bounced back in style.
Son Heung-Min has been central to that, returning from the AFC Asian Cup in the same form he showed beforehand and scoring in the last four matches.
Add to that Harry Kane’s return to training and Spurs are well and truly firing in the right direction again.
Burnley have improved defensively during this upturn in form, with Tom Heaton’s return in goal a huge part of that.
They also have their own in-form strikers in Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes, whose goals have helped to lift them up to 15th in the table.
But against Spurs, their unbeaten league form in 2019 could well come to an end – Spurs are in brilliant form and not yet out of the title race either. A win will keep them right on Manchester City and Liverpool’s tails.

Steven Defour could return from a calf strain – the Belgian will face a late fitness test – but Aaron Lennon and Jonathan Walters are definitely out. Johan Berg Gudmundsson and Matthew Lowton have both returned in recent weeks.
Chris Wood – Two goals last time out continued his good goalscoring form since the turn of the year – he has nine for the season so far.
Ashley Barnes – Goals in his last three games – including two penalties – have moved him to eight for the season.
Tom Heaton – Burnley’s upturn in form started when Heaton returned in goal in place of Joe Hart – they have conceded just six times in seven games since.
Burnley remain unbeaten in the league in 2019, with their only defeat a heavy 5-0 defeat at Manchester City in the FA Cup. They won 3-1 at Brighton in their most recent league game, having previously drawn three in a row against Watford (0-0), Man United (2-2) and Southampton (1-1). Chris Wood scored twice and Ashley Barnes netted the other against Brighton, from the spot, to continue their good recent form. Both men also scored in the draw at Old Trafford, while Barnes’ last-minute penalty earned a point against Southampton.
Harry Kane is back in training and could return to face Burnley having recovered quicker than expected from injury. Dele Alli is still sidelined, however, and is joined on the sidelines by Ben Davies. From the team which beat Dortmund, Kane’s return would mean Lucas Moura dropping to the bench and no place for Fernando Llorente – who stepped off the bench to score. Other changes from that game could include returns for Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier at wing-back.
Son Heung-Min – Scored in each of Spurs’ last four matches to continue his fine run of goalscoring form, which started in December.
Christian Eriksen – Had to step up when Son was away and Kane and Alli were injured and did so well – he has seven goals and 12 assists.
Harry Kane – His earlier return to action is a huge boost – though form has still been excellent of late without him – and he will now look to add to the 20 goals he has scored this season.
Since their 2-0 FA Cup defeat away to Crystal Palace, Spurs have won four matches in a row – all at Wembley. They got back to winning ways thanks to Son Heung-Min and Fernando Llorente scoring late on in a 2-1 comeback win against Watford, while Son also scored a late winner as Newcastle were beaten 1-0. Victory against Leicester was more convincing in their most recent league game – Davinson Sanchez, Christian Eriksen and Son again scoring in a 3-1 win, before the eye-catching 3-0 defeat of Borussia Dortmund, in which Son, Jan Vertonghen and Llorente scored.
