Cleveland Browns will win this match.
This will be the 27th time the two teams have played each other. So far, the Browns have a slim 14-12 edge over the Jets.
Here's a look at the last five results:
9/20/18: Jets 17-21 Browns
10/8/17: Jets 17-14 Browns
10/30/16: Jets 31-28 Browns
9/13/16: Browns 10-31 Jets
12/22/13: Browns 13-24 Jets
Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:
The Browns are huge 6.5 favorites here, even on the road.
The over/under is at 44 points.
The Browns are at 1/3 and the Jets are at 12/5 via the money line.
The spread seems like much too much here, and it should be a closely contested game. The Jets didn’t look good, either, in the first week of action, but they are at home and have to have that count for something.
The Browns are 0-1 ahead of this game after they dropped a really bad one to the Titans last Sunday. The Browns had huge expectations placed upon them to go out and win a lot of games this year, but they didn’t look capable of that if that game is anything to go by. They never looked like they were in it and were pushed around by the Titans. They now have injury doubts to account for, and that could derail them even further in their bid to finally reach the playoffs again.
9/8/19: 43-13 L vs Titans
12/30/18: 24-26 L @ Ravens
12/23/18: 18-26 W vs Bengals
12/15/18: 17-16 W @ Broncos
12/9/18: 20-26 W vs Panthers
With Baker Mayfield a questionable presence to start this game, the running game is going to have to pick it up substantially. To run well you have to have a good showing up front but you’ve also got to have talent. Nick Chubb has that, and he had a decent 74 yards on 16 carries in the loss to the Titans last time out. Wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr., ever the controversial figure, had an ‘OK’ game, too, catching the ball seven times for 71 yards. They will need some of his best here regardless of the QB to get them going in the right direction.

Strong safety Morgan Burnett did a little bit of everything against the Titans last Sunday. Not only did he participate in coverage, but he was also a factor in the rushing game to record a sack, which was one of six tackles he had. Defensive end Myles Garrett also did his job well, as would be expected of him. He ended the game with two sacks and three other tackles and will be a force up front against the Jets.

The Jets had came into the season with some optimism behind them, but they showed their old colors in the manner in which they lost against Buffalo last Sunday. They had a lead for the majority of the game, but the Bills just keep cutting away at it and eventually went in front. The Jets’ toothless offense couldn’t respond, and that was that. They are now 0-1 and they run the risk of losing their fans all over again if they lose a second so quickly.

Le’Veon Bell hadn’t played a competitive game of football in over a year, so his first outing wasn’t a terrible one. He didn’t get injured, so that was a bright spot. He had 60 yards on 17 attempts and also had 32 yards receiving, so it was far from awful from a man that was once a premier running back. Wide receiver Jamison Crowder also did well in the game against the Bills by grabbing 14 catches for 99 yards. That’s a lot of small gains, but it is helpful when you can have that kind of assured threat running routes.

Free safety Marcus Mae was a real highlight for the Jets in their loss to the Bills in week 1, recording five tackles, four of which where on his own to stop the Bills in their tracks in a low scoring affair. Cornerback Darryl Roberts also played very well in both coverage and wrapping up. He ended the game with eight tackles as they prevented the Bills a ton of space on the fringes.
