BRA vs PER Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Brazil are at 2/7 to win, a draw is at 4/1, and a Peru win is at 11/1.

Brazil have not played anywhere close to their best here in this tournament, but they have advanced here almost by default simply by being so far ahead of the competition.  They have yet to give up a goal, despite narrowly avoiding embarrassment by winning on penalties against Paraguay in the quarters.  After their massive five-goal triumph over Peru back in the group, it’s nigh on impossible to see anyone but yellow and blue holding up the trophy.

Peru would probably admit that they are just happy to be here.  That’s not to say that they don't’ want to win and won’t give it a right old go, but they are not expected to do so.  They got here after finishing third in Group A, having been decimated by the Selecao by five goals.  Their punishment was facing Uruguay, who they waited out and dumped out unceremoniously on penalties.  They then overcame two-time reigning champions Chile, old, tired, and past it.  They are playing with house money here, and everyone will know it.

Brazil winning to nil, via Betfair, is at ¾.

Ladbrokes have Firmino scoring anytime at 2.2 and Jesus to do the same at 2.1.

Brazil vs Peru Prediction

One of the main dangers for Brazil here will be that they don’t get out into the lead quick enough for their home fans’ liking.  If they don’t, they could see their fans turn on them.  That’s Peru’s opening, and they will try to wait them.  They fail in the end to do so as Brazil record another clean sheet.

Correct Score Prediction: Brazil 2-0 Peru

Brazil Team News

Tite could look to make a slight alteration or two to his side for this Final, but he will feel that he has made a big breakthrough and can play his star strikers here together as they try to outgun Peru.

Brazil Key Man

A slight gamble to play Roberto Firmino alongside Gabriel Jesus paid off with huge dividends against Argentina in the de facto Final- in many’s eyes- with each man scoring a goal and then setting the table for the other to score.  With both men on the pitch, you get the poaching ability of Jesus along with the hard work of Firmino, forcing opposition teams into a frenzy and not knowing which man to deal with.  That’s what Peru have to worry with now.

Brazil Team Form

Brazil have three wins and two draws in their last five matches:

2-0 home win vs Argentina
0-0 home draw, penalty win vs Paraguay
0-5 home win vs Peru
0-0 home draw vs Venezuela
3-0 home win vs Bolivia

Brazil Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Peru Team News

Ricardo Gareca is very unlikely to change much about his team for this Final, though you might see one or two tactical adjustments to try and throw off the much bigger Brazilians.

Peru Key Man

Peru sort of plodded their way through the tournament up until the semis when they overran Chile to win by three.  That win saw Pedro Gallese, their goalkeeper, make another fine save, from a penalty very late on to preserve the shutout.  He will need to be massive here and make a couple of otherwordly saves to give them a chance.  Up front, veteran Paolo Guerrero is still going strong, as he demonstrated with his late goal against Chile that sealed it up and finished off the dethroned champions.  He could be just the sneaky, experienced man to get them over the line here.

Peru Team Form

Peru have two wins, two draws, and a loss in their last five matches:

0-3 win vs Chile
0-0 draw, penalty win vs Uruguay
0-5 loss at Brazil
1-3 win vs Bolivia
0-0 draw vs Venezuela

Peru Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Brazil haven't given up a goal as of yet, with Alisson Becker standing there like a brick wall, and they thrashed Peru in the group stage. All signs are pointing toward them raising the trophy at the end of the day, despite how hard the visitors will push. With that said, though, Peru will have nothing to lose and will throw everything they have at the hosts. It will be much tighter than the first meeting, but still a comfortable win for Brazil.
Brazil might have sleepwalked through the tournament so far, but they have yet to concede a single goal, in either open play or set pieces so far.
