Our Prediction Tip

Brazil will win this match.

Brazil have won all five matches they have played against Panama and are yet to concede a goal against them. The Brazilians have scored 18 in reply – the most recent of which came in a 2-0 friendly win in May 2016. Jonas and Gabriel scored their goals on that occasion.

BRA vs PAN Betting Tips

Brazil have not conceded a goal since the World Cup, winning all six matches they have played, while they have also never conceded a goal against Panama and won all five games between the two.

Brazil’s form is superb, while Panama’s is dreadful – their World Cup appearance failing to inspire an upturn in form and the majority of the most experienced players from Russia now retired.

While Neymar is absent for Brazil, there is still little question they should be winning this match with ease – Gabriel Jesus, Richarlison, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho can all provide goals for example.

At the other end, Panama lack goals as much as Brazil rarely concede. The Selecao should not just be winning this game, but winning it very comfortably – expect a big win to nil if recent matches are anything to go by.

Panama vs Brazil Recommended bets with odds

Brazil are huge favourites to beat Panama, as you would expect Neymar or not, with Bet365 offering the best price of 1/8 on the Selecao.

Having not conceded a goal since the World Cup, that improves to 2/5 with Bet365, Betfair and Paddy Power if you back Brazil to win to nil.

Expect plenty of goals at the other end. Betfair and Paddy Power are offering a best price of 11/4 on Brazil to win by four or more goals.

Over 3.5 goals will return a best price of 29/20 with Betfair, meanwhile, and a Brazil win and over 2.5 goals could be worth backing at a generous best price of 4/7 with Betway.

As for those goals, Neymar’s absence means somebody must step up and Gabriel Jesus could be that man. Despite a stop-start season for Manchester City, he has still hit 17 goals and he is 10/11 with Bet365 and 10Bet to score at any time.

Brazil vs Panama Prediction

Brazil will expect to rack up a big win against Panama and it would not be surprising if this ends in a comprehensive victory for the Selecao.

Correct Score Prediction: Brazil 4-0 Panama

Brazil Team News

The most obvious absentee in the Brazil squad is Neymar, due to his foot injury, and there will be no debut for teenager Vinicius Junior in his place after he too withdrew through injury. Dani Alves and Filipe Luis have also dropped out since the squad was named. David Neres and Alex Telles could make their Brazil debuts – the latter on his home ground in Porto.

Brazil Key Players

Gabriel Jesus – The Manchester City man has 11 goals in 25 appearances and is so often turned to in Neymar’s absence to lead the Brazilian attack.
Richarlison – Three goals in six games after making his debut in September – the most recent of those proved to be the winner against Cameroon.
Philippe Coutinho – The most experienced attacking player in the squad, the Barcelona playmaker has scored 13 goals in his 45 Brazil appearances.

Brazil Team Form

Brazil’s Global Tour since the World Cup has seen them beat USA and El Salvador in America in September (2-0 and 5-0 respectively), before a 2-0 win against hosts Saudi Arabia and a 1-0 victory against Argentina – Miranda scoring the winner in stoppage time – in October. In November, Brazil headed to London and beat Uruguay 1-0 thanks to Neymar’s penalty and Cameroon 1-0 courtesy of Richarlison’s strike.

Brazil Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

Panama Team News

Panama are taking an 18-man squad to Portugal for this friendly, which could see Orlando Mosquera, Cesar Blackman and Jan Vargas make their international debuts. The majority of Panama’s most experienced players (with the exception of those that retired after the World Cup) also return – Anibal Godoy, Alberto Quintero, Gabriel Torres, Adolfo Machado and Harold Cummings, for example. None were made available for the January friendly with the USA.

Panama Key Players

Abdiel Arroyo – Likely to lead the line having been one of the few experienced Panamanian internationals to face the USA in January.
Luis Mejia – The Nacional goalkeeper will be the last line of defence against Brazil’s awesome attacking force.
Harold Cummings – His first international goal, in the defeat to Ecuador, was the most recent Panama have scored – though it his defensive work that will be scrutinized most against Brazil.

Panama Team Form

Panama have still not won since a friendly with Trinidad and Tobago in April last year. They have lost nine of their last ten matches, with only a 2-2 draw with South Korea to their credit since then. Most recently, they lost to Honduras and Ecuador in November, before a 3-0 defeat to the USA, outside of the FIFA fixture window, in January. Their only goal in that time was scored by Harold Cummings in the 2-1 loss to Ecuador.

Panama Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-5-1

Brazil are unbeaten so far since the World Cup, and impenetrable too - six games, six wins, six clean sheets. That includes wins against Argentina and Uruguay too, so they are high-calibre opponents too. Panama, on the other hand, increasingly look like their 2018 World Cup experience will remain their only one for a long time. They should pose no problem whatsoever to Brazil.
Brazil are not only unbeaten since the World Cup, they have won every game they have played without conceding a goal.
