Our Prediction Tip

Venezuela will win this match.

Venezuela put five past Bolivia when these two teams last met in 2016, during World Cup qualifying – their 11th win in this fixture, compared to 12 draws and 15 defeats. Josef Martinez scored a hat-trick in Maturin, with Jacobo Kouffaty and Romulo Otero scoring either side. Bolivia had won their home match, however – Rodrigo Ramallo scoring twice in a 4-2 win in November 2015.

BOL vs VEN Betting Tips

Venezuela have caught the eye by shutting out Peru and Brazil in their two matches so far, with goalless draws from their two opening fixtures.

Bolivia, on the other hand, conceded three goals against each of them and have failed to score from open play in any of their last five matches – all of which have been lost – in total.

Salomon Rondon will be the man leading the Venezuela line as they look to break down the Bolivian defence.

Bolivia’s only goal so far in this tournament came from the penalty spot and they have conceded five goals in the second-half of their matches so far, out of six conceded in total.

It appears they lack the stamina to keep teams at bay for a full match and, even if Venezuela have to bid their time, they will be confident of getting on the scoresheet.

If they do that, then another clean sheet at the other end will guarantee their quarter-final berth as they continue to prove their recent improvement.

Draws with Peru and Brazil have given Venezuela the perfect base from which to qualify for the quarter-finals and they can take full advantage with a win against Bolivia.

Venezuela vs Bolivia Recommended bets with odds

Venezuela are favourites to beat Boliva at a best price of 1/2 with Bet365, Ladbrokes, Betfair and Betway.

They are yet to concede a goal in the tournament and a Venezuela win to nil improves those odds to 11/8 with Bet365 and Ladbrokes.

You can bet against both teams to score at a best price of 4/5 with Bet365 and Betfair but, with Venezuela hardly prolific either, under 2.5 goals is priced at 10/11 with Bet365.

For Venezuela, Salomon Rondon is favourite to score at any time and he can be backed at a best price of 5/4 with Ladbrokes.

Bolivia vs Venezuela Prediction

Bolivia lack goals and concede too many – a dangerous combination against a team who have kept two clean sheets and the two better teams in this group.

Correct Score Prediction: Bolivia 0-1 Venezuela

Bolivia Team News

Bolivia have been unchanged for their two matches so far, but Fernando Saucedo has been substituted in both matches so far and Diego Wayar could replace him in central midfield.

Bolivia Key Players

Marcelo Martins – The penalty that gave Bolivia the lead last time out was his 18th international goal as he won his 75th cap – both more than anyone else in the current squad.
Alejandro Chumacero – The left-winger is another of the more experienced players in the squad and one of few that does not play in the Bolivian league.
Luis Haquin – At the heart of a defence that will have to contend with the power, presence and goalscoring capabilities of Salomon Rondon.

Bolivia Team Form

Bolivia have now lost five consecutive matches and are without a win in their last nine in total. Their opening goal in the 3-1 defeat to Peru last time out was their first goal since a 2-2 draw with Nicaragua in March. So far at this tournament, they have suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brazil in the opening game and then went down 3-1 to Peru. Five of the six goals they have conceded have come in the second-half of those two matches.

Bolivia Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-4-1-1

Venezuela Team News

Luis Mago is available again after suspension and could slot back in for Ronald Hernandez at full-back. Darwin Machis replaced Jefferson Savarino on the win against Brazil, but Venezuela could opt for the more attacking line-up this time out.

Venezuela Key Players

Salomon Rondon – The big striker came up with some big goals for club and country this year and he goes into his 76th international cap looking to add to his 24 international goals.
Wuilker Farinez – The Millonarios goalkeeper has kept clean sheets against both Peru and Brazil so far and a third would go a long way to securing Venezuela’s quarter-final place.
Thomas Rincon – The Torino midfielder and Venezuela captain is the most experienced player in the squad in terms of caps – this will be his 98th for his country.

Venezuela Team Form

Venezuela have drawn 0-0 with both Peru and Brazil so far at the 2019 Copa America and have now kept clean sheets in their last three games. Their final warm-up match for the tournament saw them beat the USA 3-0, with Salomon Rondon scoring twice and Jefferson Savarino also finding the net. That win ended a run of three games without success, as they had started the month with a draw with Ecuador and 3-1 loss to Mexico.

Venezuela Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Goalless draws against Peru and Brazil represent a strong start to the Copa America for Venezuela, who can now seal their place in the quarter-finals with a win in their final group game. Bolivia have lost both of their matches so far - they lack goals and have a porous defence and Venezuela can claim the three points they need.
Two goalless draws so far mean Venezuela have now kept three consecutive clean sheets.
