Player Transfer Rumours in the Football World

Latest Rumours, Gossip and News of Players that are in Transfer Window for this Summer

With Euro 2016 well underway it is no surprise to learn that many of the tournament’s standout players are being touted for big money moves this summer.

But the competition’s stars aren’t the only transfer deals being discussed, with a number of Europe’s biggest names also rumoured to be in talks with potential buyers.

Here are five of the biggest transfer rumours currently gathering momentum:

Dimitri Payet

After a fine first season at West Ham United, Payet booked his place in France’s Euro 2016 squad. A number of outstanding performances in their pre-tournament friendly matches secured the winger’s spot in the starting eleven….and he hasn’t looked back since.

With two goals to his name and the possibility that he will be named the competition’s best player, there’s no surprise to learn that a number of the world’s biggest club sides are keeping tabs on the 29-year-old.

PSG would like to take Payet home to France, and they certainly have the finances to offer him a lucrative package now that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s wages are off the bill, while Real Madrid are also keen admirers of the set-piece specialist.

Interestingly it is Inter Milan, in the wake of their huge Chinese investment, that have emerged as the favourites for his signature should he decide to leave the East London club.

Michy Batshuayi

Crystal Palace shocked the footballing world by bidding in excess of £30m for Marseille frontman Michy Batshuayi, who is currently strutting his stuff for Belgium at Euro 2016.

Unsurprisingly, the 22-year-old didn’t really fancy the move to Selhurst Park and it is believed that Chelsea, Palace’s London rivals, have since had a £33m offer accepted by the French club.

Batshuayi scored 17 goals last year in his breakthrough season in Ligue 1, and if the rumours are true then new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has snapped up one of European football’s finest young talents.

Robbie Brady

His Ireland team may have bowed out of Euro 2016 in the round of 16 against France, but Robbie Brady had already caught the eye of many scouts with his probing runs down the left flank.

The poise he showed to dispatch that second minute penalty against the hosts was also eye-catching, and despite his Norwich City side being relegated from the English Premiership last season it is though that the Irishman will secure a move that ensures he remains in the top flight.

Champions Leicester are rumoured to be tracking the 24-year-old, although they will have to compete with the likes of Stoke City and Sunderland for his signature.

Henrik Mkhitaryan

Nobody created more goals in the Bundesliga last season than Henrik Mkhitaryan, and so there’s little wonder that he has been linked with a transfer away from Borussia Dortmund before the new season.

The German side will surely want to keep one of their prized assets, although they do have a reputation for being a ‘selling club’ as evidenced by the loss of Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan already this summer.

Jose Mourinho has leapt to the head of the queue for the Armenian star, with the Portuguese boss looking to revitalise Manchester United in the wake of their lacklustre campaign under Louis van Gaal last time out.

Claudio Bravo

Having usurped Marc-Andre ter Stegen as Barcelona’s first choice last season, Claudio Bravo cemented his status as one of the world’s best goalkeepers at Copa America, where he kept three consecutive clean sheets in the knockout phase to guide Chile towards their second successive title.

New Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola’s attention has been grabbed by the 33-year-old, and he will attempt to prise the shot stopper away from his former employer as he looks to add to his new squad.

Given Joe Hart’s shaky performances at Euro 2016, nobody is surprised that a new keeper is at the top of his shopping list.
