Russia gets Disqualification warning as UEFA slapped a fine of €150,000

EURO 2016 has become little more worrisome for the control, ethics and disciplinary body of UEFA after the violent clash between fans and supporters during a match between Russia and England in Marseilles.

A violent clash erupted among fans from both side as the teams came to a last minute draw of 1-1. The racist behavior, crowd disturbance and use of fireworks by Russian fans, who stormed into the England side violently, has caused the Russian Football body a heavy blow with the fine and warning.

Who showed his concern saying an exit from the tournament would nothing but devastating. His quoted  “Our message is for everyone to be safe and sensible. By all means enjoy the match, but be respectful that we are out there. I’ve got friends and family coming to the game … it’s a big game and I’ve got to focus on my job and hopefully everyone can do their job off the field.”

Even Captain Wayne Rooney and the England manager Roy Hodgson have come forward appealing to fans to behave properly.

What the suspended disqualification means?

The current warning and suspension of disqualification means that Russia could stay in the tournament with a fine. But any further violent clash or crowd disturbance in any of Russian match, in any stadium, during this tournament would lift the suspension throwing Russian team out of EURO 2016.

Since the incident happened inside a stadium during a football match, UEFA holds the jurisdiction and any decision made here is open to appeal.
