Seattle Sounders VS Minnesota United Match Prediction

Seattle Sounders will win this match.
This month’s 4-0 Seattle Sounders win at Minnesota United was the two teams’ first ever meeting in Major League Soccer.
Seattle Sounders have hit their stride in recent weeks, with their Gold Cup players now back in action and firing – Clint Dempsey scored two in the reverse fixture, and another as Seattle beat Sporting KC last week.
They have been difficult to break down at the back too, with four consecutive clean sheets – a complete contrast to Minnesota who have shipped more goals than any other team this season.
In fairness to Minnesota, they have had a nightmare season for injuries, and top scorer Christian Ramirez’s absence will hit them hard up front as they have struggled for goals elsewhere too.
Away from home they have still not won a game in the MLS, either, taking just two points on their travels this season.
It all adds up to the trip to Seattle making for another difficult afternoon for Minnesota, with the hosts – who could go top of the Western Conference with a big win – in line to not only win, but win well, and without conceding.

Seattle Sounders are huge favourites for the match against Minnesota United, with Ladbrokes offering 3/10 on a home win.
You can improve those odds by backing them to win to nil – and keeping a fifth clean sheet in the process – however, with Ladbrokes offering 26/19.
You can also back against both teams to score at a generous 11/10 with Betfair – surprising, given Seattle’s run of clean sheets and the absence of Minnesota’s top scorer Christian Ramirez.
Having put four past Minnesota in the reverse fixture, you can get 11/10 with Betfair on there being more than 3.5 goals again this time out, while a Sounders win with more than 3.5 goals scored will fetch 17/11 at Ladbrokes.
Clint Dempsey has scored three goals in two games, and is a best price of 4/5 to score at any time with Bet365 and William Hill. Will Bruin is priced at 10/11 with Bet365 and Ladbrokes and both will expect to be in the goals against Minnesota.
Seattle won 4-0 in the reverse fixture, and there is nothing to suggest they can not at the very least repeat that result this time out.
Brad Evans is the Sounders’ only injury concern, with Osvaldo Alonso back in contention and Calum Mallace, Victor Rodriguez and Lamar Neagle all looking for their first starts.
Clint Dempsey scored two goals in Minnesota a fortnight ago, and followed that up with the winner against Sporting KC last week.
Seattle are unbeaten in their last six competitive matches since being knocked out of the US Open Cup. They have also kept clean sheets in their last four matches, which include the 4-0 win in Minnesota and last weekend’s 1-0 defeat of Sporting KC.

Minnesota United have been unlucky with injuries in their maiden MLS campaign, and they still have six players sidelined – Bernardo Anor, Thomas de Villardi, Marc Burch, Rasmus Schuller, Justin Davis and top scorer Christian Ramirez are all absent.
With Christian Ramirez injured, Minnesota will have to look to Kevin Molino for goals – he has scored five and assisted seven so far this season.
Minnesota have not played since their crushing 4-0 defeat at home to Seattle a fortnight ago, though they did beat DC United 4-0 in the game before that. They have not played away from home since losing 3-1 to New York City at the end of June.
