Wolves vs Brighton Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Wolves are at 8/13, a draw is at 11/4, and Brighton are at 19/4.

Wolves will be absolutely flying ahead of kick off here.  Not only did they make it to the Europa League Round of 16, where they look like a legit contender to win it, but they also picked up a massive comeback win at Spurs last time out in the PL.  That win has them in sixth now on 42 points, only behind the Champions League place (held by United) on goal difference.  To keep up their charge, they need another win.  They have eight points in their last four games with two wins consecutively now.

Brighton, meanwhile, are in the middle of one of their poor runs of form.  This side has its ups and downs constantly, and right now they are in the down portion of it.  They have three points- all from draws- in their last five games.  That puts them in 15th with 28 points thus far.  They are, then, only a solitary point above Bournemouth in the relegation zone.  It appears they will be fighting it all term, but a win here would be a major plus for them in their bid to resist it.

Wolves’ home record thus far has been decent.  They have taken 21 points from 14 games, with six draws and five wins.  They really need to fix the draws if they want to make the UCL, as they have two of them (and two wins) in their last five at the ground.  As for the Seagulls, they have toiled away from home.  They have jut ten total points from 14 games, with only two of those points coming in their last five trips.  On the plus side, those have come back-to-back, so that is a bit of positivity.

Betfair have both sides scoring at 2.0.

Ladbrokes have Jimenez and Jota, respectively, at 11/10 and 15/8 to score anytime.

Wolves vs Brighton Prediction

Some games are absolutely must-haves, and Wolves will need to treat them as such.  Brighton can be good on their day, but you never know when that day will be.  Wolves take all three points from this encounter.

Predicted Scoreline: Wolves 3-1 Brighton

Wolves Team News

Nuno Espirito Santo will be missing Johnny Castro due to an injury resulting from a rather bad knock.  Adama Traore is also likely to miss out due to his shoulder problem.

Wolves Key Man

If there is a strike partnership in better form right now, then we’d like to see it.  Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez are tearing it up as of now, and they did more damage to Spurs in London last time out.  Jota scored, taking his tally up to six, and also laid on the winning assist for Jimenez.  Jimenez, meanwhile, grabbed yet another goal, his team-high 13.  When you consider that he also has six assists, it makes him one of the most versatile forwards in the entire division and on the whole of the continent.

Wolves Team Form

Wolves have three wins, a loss, and a draw in their last five matches:

2-3 win at Tottenham
3-2 loss at Espanyol (UEL)
3-0 home win vs Norwich
4-0 home win vs Espanyol (UEL)
0-0 home draw vs Leicester

Wolves Perdicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 3-4-3

Brighton Team News

Graham Potter continues to miss out on the services of Jose Izquierdo for this fixture.  Shane Duffy is said to be up in the air due to personal reasons.

Brighton Key Man

Brighton have not been able to settle on a formation that has been consistent yet, but one man that has frequently been a bright spot for them is Neal Maupay.  The French striker has eight goals and two assists for them and gives them the positive drive necessary to score goals and to run at opposition defences.  In the midfield, they really need Aaron Mooy to step up.  The Australian has been a regular but he has not found the kind of form he displayed at Huddersfield two seasons ago as of yet.

Brighton Team Form

Brighton have two losses and three draws in their last five matches:

0-1 home loss vs Crystal Palace
1-1 draw at Sheffield United
1-1 home draw vs Watford
3-3 draw at West Ham
3-1 loss at Bournemouth

Brighton Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Wolves have not had a whole lot of luck with Brighton since their return to the Premier League, but we have to imagine that is going to change here. Sure, they have let a few points get away from them at home so far, but Brighton are not exactly the best traveling side in the nation, either. Due to those facts, we have to go with the 'Old Gold' of Wolves to prevail here. They are on a mission to make the Champions League, and they definitely need this win to pull that off.
Since Wolves' promotion to the top flight, Brighton are unbeaten against them (1W, 2D).
