West Ham United have won their last four consecutive matches against Southampton, keeping clean sheets in three of those. That includes a 1-0 win at St Mary’s in December, when Sebastien Haller scored the only goal, and a 3-0 win they last met at the London Stadium.

Victory against Aston Villa last weekend was timely for Southampton, ensuring they remain well clear of the relegation places in mid-table.
Another win against West Ham will put the Saints 13 clear of the Hammers and push them closer to the top half too.
And with the Hammers in poor form, you would not bet against that result – even if their last two losses, at the top two teams, could be excused from their record slightly.
Even then, they had a big chance to win at Anfield when they went 2-1 up, but goalkeeping gaffes from Lukas Fabianski proved costly.

Tomas Soucek will be out after suffering a muscular injury in the defeat to Liverpool, joining Ryan Fredericks, Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmolenko on the sidelines. The latter is back in training but is not yet up to match speed. Jarrod Bowen is still awaiting a first start.

Stuart Armstrong – Proved his worth in place of Redmond and Boufal last weekend when he scored the second goal deep in stoppage time.
Shane Long – Opened the scoring last weekend and has established himself as Ings’ regular strike partner now.
Southampton ended a three-game losing streak, which had continued with a 2-1 loss to Burnley despite another Danny Ings’ goal the previous weekend, when they beat Aston Villa 2-0 last time out. The Saints were in dominant form and goals from Shane Long and Stuart Armstrong ensured that was rewarded with a 2-0 win.
