Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:
West Ham are at 5/6 to win, a draw is at 11/4, and a Fulham win is at 3/1.
West Ham come into this match in a bit of dry spell of late, but they still boast a good record in the Premier League and will be staying up unless some rather strange things happen. The Hammers are in tenth on 33 points, nine clear of the bottom three as things stand. It looks like they are now in a battle to stay just inside the top ten as Wolves have pulled away a bit. With no wins in their last four matches and just two points in that time, they will be looking at this as the perfect time to get going again.
Fulham are in deep, deep trouble at the moment. The Cottagers lie 19th in the table on just 17 points. They are a full seven points back of Southampton in 18th right now and they are a further point off the pace of Cardiff. They absolutely must get going now in order to stave off relegation. They have just 12 matches to turn it around, and it’s going to be very tough for them to overcome this deficit at this point and time. They have just three points (via a win over Brighton at home) in their last five games.
At home, the Hammers have been just middling this term. They’ve collected 18 points from 13 games, a respectable but not so great total. That means they’ve nearly had as many points on the road as they have had at a home, a surprising stat. They have had some positive results recently, with only one loss in their last five. Still yet, it’s eight points from a possible 15 in those five matches.
The Cottagers’ away record has been abysmal this term, and it accounts for some of their struggles. They’ve gotten just two points in 13 matches, underlining major issues for them. They have only scored eight times while letting in 32 at the other end, a recipe for disaster if there ever was one. In the last five matches away from home, they have just a solitary point to write home about.
Betfair have both sides scoring at 1.66.
Arnautovic to score anytime, via Ladbrokes, is at 11/10.
Fulham are in major trouble at the moment, and it’s looking like they are going to be seeing curtains sooner rather than later if they don’t fix it quick. With so much riding on this match away from home, they falter due to shoddy defending again.
Mauricio Pellegrini’s team has struggled at times partly due to having so many injuries. Those persist with the likes of center back Winston Reid, midfielders Carlos Sanchez, Manuel Lanzini, and winger Andrii Yarmolenko all ruled out of action. Attacking midfielder Samir Nasri, center mid Jack Wilshere, and center back Fabian Balbuena are all back in training, so each could have a role to play here.
Warm weather training and a week off would have done Marko Arnautovic a lot of good, meaning he should be back in the starting XI here. The Austrian has seven goals and three assists, and he’d love to add to that while showing the supporters he’s happy to still be in London. At the back, the Hammers have gotten an excellent showing out of Lukasz Fabianski in goal for the majority of the season. The Pole has been one of the most unsung players in the league, keeping games tight at times, and he’ll be a difference maker.
The Hammers have two draws and three losses in their last five matches:
1-1 draw at Crystal Palace
1-1 home draw vs Liverpool
3-0 loss at Wolves
4-2 loss at AFC Wimbledon (FA Cup)
2-0 loss at Bournemouth
Claudio Ranieri will once again be missing goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli and center back Alfie Mawson as they face yet another crunch clash in the Premier League.
One thing has to be said for Fulham: they aren’t the worst attackers. But that rate does go down drastically on the road. Aleksandar Mitrovic was once one of the top scorers in the league, but the further we went in the season, the tougher it got. Nonetheless, he’s got ten goals so far and is a danger to any side he faces. The real problems lie at the back for the Cottagers, so the play of Tim Ream is going to be crucial. The American- like the rest of the side- has found it hard to adjust to the PL after moving up from the Championship, but they need him to be at his very best to have a shot at staying afloat.
The Cottagers have three losses and two wins in their last five matches:
0-3 home loss vs Manchester United
2-0 loss at Crystal Palace
4-2 home win vs Brighton
1-2 home loss vs Tottenham
2-1 loss at Burnley
