Our Prediction Tip

Tottenham Hotspur will win this match.

This two-legged tie marks the very first time that these two sides have ever clashed.

THFC vs RBL Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Tottenham are at 11/8, a draw is at 5/2, and RB Leipzig are at 19/10.

Tottenham will come into this match rejuvenated a bit.  Not just by their performance at the weekend, either, but due to the fact that they appear to still be in the hunt for the Champions League via the Premier League due to Manchester City’s pending punishment.  It would be massive for Spurs to have this chance and that one, as they did make the Final last term.  They have a long way to go, but they have played better recently.

RB Leipzig, meanwhile, will enter the match in a position to challenge in the Bundesliga, still.  The unlikely challengers are just a point off their rivals, Bayern.  They have had a fantastic campaign and keep on pressuring them for top spot.  They had hit a barren run of form, but they ended it on Saturday with their win at home over Bremen.  They will have to hope that it is the catalyst for them to kick back into form and move forward for the rest of the season.

Tottenham’s home record in all competitions to this point includes 12 wins, two draws, and four losses.  Three of those losses were against teams that are in this very comp still (Bayern, Liverpool, and Chelsea), so they have at least lost to quality sides when they have fallen at home.  As for RB Leipzig, they will come into this match having racked up ten wins, three draws, and three defeats away from home in all comps.  The issues have come of late, as they have just one win in their last six and none in their last four.

Both teams scoring can be had at Betfair for 1.5.

Son to score anytime is at Ladbrokes for 9/5.

Tottenham vs RB Leipzig Prediction

Tottenham could have had much easier opponents than Leipzig, but they also could have gotten worse ones as well.  The visitors are still new to Europe, and that lack of savvy might just be something Mourinho and co. exploit.

Correct Score Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 RB Leipzig

Tottenham Team News

Jose Mourinho will be without Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko for this huge clash in European football.  Juan Foyth and Erik Lamela missed out at the weekend, thought neither are massive parts of the side, so that should not represent too big of a worry.

Tottenham Key Man

For seemingly the umpteenth time, Son Heung-Min bailed out Spurs when Harry Kane was not available.  The South Korean scored twice on Sunday, once at the bitter end, in the 94th minute, to hand them a crucial away win over Villa.  When it’s crunch time, he’s the man for them, very clearly.  Lucas Moura is another man to watch.  He might not be an automatic selection, but his showing against City last term, which got them into the semis, may be what turns his manager’s thinking to having him be included.

Tottenham Team Form

Tottenham have four wins and a draw in their last five matches:

2-3 win at Aston Villa
3-2 home win vs Southampton (FA Cup)
2-0 home win vs Manchester City
1-1 draw at Southampton (FA Cup)
2-1 home win vs Norwich

Tottenham Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 5-3-2

RB Leipzig Team News

Julian Nagelsmann will be missing defensive stalwart Dayot Upamecano due to a suspension here.  Also missing out, but due to injuries, are the likes of Tyler Adams, Willi Orban, Kevin Kampl, and Ibrahima Konate.

RB Leipzig Key Man

The big name that is on everyone’s lips in England right now is Timo Werner, and it is easy to see why.  The German striker has notched an ultra impressive 20 goals (and six assists) in league play already, making him a star in the eyes of the media and seeing him linked with bundles of the biggest clubs.  At the weekend, though, it was Patrik Schick that took over and led the way.  He assisted on the opener and then scored the second as they kept up their title hunt with victory over Werder Bremen.

RB Leipzig Team Form

RB Leipzig have a win, two draws, and two losses in their last five matches:

3-0 home win vs Werder Bremen
0-0 draw at Bayern Munich
3-1 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt (DFB Pokal)
2-2 home draw vs Borussia Monchengladbach
2-0 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt

RB Leipzig Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-2-2

This is yet another interesting (and difficult to call) tie here. Two teams that look very similar on paper, even if they are on different time frames. Tottenham were the Leipzig of England, if you will, for a bit, but they have fallen on hard times. Ripped apart by Bayern in the group stages, you'll now wonder how Spurs will get on against Leipzig. You'd have to think much better, but you still question them. Looks for both teams to score and for entertainment, regardless of the outcome.
Leipzig's away form has taken a nose dive of late, with the German side winning just one of their last six away from home following a start where they had lost just once in 14 away outings.
