Tottenham come into this, their second match of the preseason, having some confidence after they defeated Juventus late on thanks to a sublime Harry Kane goal from nearly 40 yards out. They are looking to keep up that momentum here and show that they have what it takes to continue to climb after going to the Champions League Final last term.
Manchester United have made a great start to their preseason so far, winning all three of their matches. There is still a lot of speculation ongoing about a couple of their big stars, but they are still sticking around for now and look like they will stay on board. After a disappointing sixth place finish last season, they will hope to improve immensely under Solksjaer and they hope to return to the UCL.
You may not see it all too often in the EPL later this season, but for now the Red Devils can and should get the best of Spurs, helping them keep up an impressive start to the summer fixtures.
Mauricio Pochettino has just about his full team along for the ride here, though Christian Eriksen didn’t see any action in their preseason opener, so that could be a story to keep your eyes on.
Harry Kane’s wonder goal won it from the bench for Spurs against Juve last time out, so you wouldn’t dare count him out here of doing something similar. Like Kyle Walker-Peters, George Marsh also has a lot to prove as he tries to nail down a possible place in the team at right back. Erik Lamela is a third to watch, as he attempts to become a much more prominent player in the team rather than a rarely used luxury star.
Tottenham have two wins, two losses, and a draw in their last five matches:
2-3 win vs Juventus (ICC)
0-2 loss vs Liverpool (UCL)
2-2 home draw vs Everton
2-3 win at Ajax (UCL)
1-0 loss at Bournemouth
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer looks set to be without defender Victor Lindelof after he was forced off early against Inter with an injury. Young midfielder Tahith Chong also sustained a blow and looks likely to miss out as well.
It’s going to be a long time coming to become a Manchester United legend, but there is a lot of promise for Daniel James, a pacy winger from Wales, and he’ll look to show some of that potential here. Forward Mason Greenwood scored, like Kane, from the bench, in his last outing, showing that the Red Devils might just have another youngster coming through. Anthony Martial might feel a slight bit of pressure with him playing well, as will the fact that apparently Romelu Lukaku won’t be leaving, either.

4-0 win vs Leeds (Fri)
2-0 win vs Perth (Fri)
0-2 home loss vs Cardiff
1-1 draw at Huddersfield
