Huddersfield’s last win against Tottenham Hotspur was back in 1956, since when Spurs have won five and drawn three of the eight matches between the two. Since the Terriers’ Premier League promotion in 2017, Tottenham have won all three matches without conceding. After 4-0 and 2-0 wins last season, they then won 2-0 again at Huddersfield this year – Harry Kane scoring both goals in the first half.

Tottenham Hotspur have ended their recent losing streak just in time for the season’s run-in, with wins in the league and in Europe since the opening of their new stadium.
Anything less than a third consecutive win, against struggling Huddersfield, would be a huge surprise – Spurs have not even conceded to the Terriers since their Premier League promotion in 2017.
Harry Kane’s absence is a blow for Spurs in the long-run, but this weekend against a weak Huddersfield defence the likes of Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura can step in and fill their boots instead.
Son Heung-Min has rediscovered the goalscoring touch he showed around the turn of the year, while Christian Eriksen was back to his creative best against Manchester City on Tuesday night.
For Huddersfield, the emergence of Karlan Grant is one of very few positives and even he missed a great chance against Crystal Palace as their lack of goals again came back to bit them.
Toothless up front and weak at the back, the Terriers are bottom of the league for a reason and, after digging deep to stay up last season, it simply has not been their year this time around.
Tottenham should be winning, and winning comfortably – Huddersfield conceded four in two of their last three games and at least that many again would not be a surprise.
Unsurprisingly, Tottenham are huge favourites to beat Huddersfield Town – Ladbrokes and Betway are offering 2/9 on a home win.
With Huddersfield too often toothless in attack, a Spurs win to nil is worth backing at evens with Ladbrokes.
Huddersfield have conceded four goals in two of their last three matches, and you can get 4/1 with Betfair and Paddy Power on Tottenham winning by four or more goals in this match.
Likewise, over 2.5 goals will return 4/9 and over 3.5 goals is 23/20 with Ladbrokes.
In Harry Kane’s absence, Fernando Llorente is 10/11 with Betfair and Paddy Power to score at any time, while Lucas Moura is a best price of 7/5 with both. In-form Son Heung-Min is 13/10 with Bet365 and 10Bet.
Tottenham are back to winning ways and will expect a big home win against a Huddersfield team whose miserable season continues.
Harry Kane could be out for the rest of the season according to manager Mauricio Pochettino after he hobbled off injured in the Champions League win against Manchester City. Kane suffered an ankle injury and was replaced by Lucas Moura, and the Brazilian could start against Huddersfield. Eric Dier, Serge Aurier and Erik Lamela all missed the game injured, while Dele Alli was also taken off with an arm injury and could miss out against the Terriers.
Lucas Moura – Set to replace Harry Kane in the starting line-up, the Brazilian has shown his best form in flashes this season and now needs to produce it consistently.
Christian Eriksen – Set up both of Son’s goals, first against Palace and then against City, as well as scoring himself in the former.
Son Heung-Min – Scored in each of the first two matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to write his name into the club’s history books and recapture his good form.
Tottenham bounced back from defeats to Southampton and Liverpool with back-to-back wins in their new stadium. Goals from first Harry Kane and then Lucas Moura could not prevent 2-1 losses either side of the international break, but Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen struck in a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace. Last time out, Son scored the only goal of the game as Spurs beat Manchester City 1-0 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.
Adama Diakhaby is still a couple of weeks away from returning but Demeaco Duhaney could be back this weekend and Laurent Depoitre is back in training too. Philip Billing is expected to recover from a minor back injury after missing the game against Leicester.
Karlan Grant – Attention has turned to the future for Huddersfield Town, and the young striker – signed from Charlton in January – proved he can be part of that with his double against West Ham.
Aaron Mooy – Scored from the penalty spot against Leicester last weekend and with interest from Premier League clubs, the Aussie international will want to sign off his Huddersfield career on a high.
Steve Mounie – The last man to score a winning goal for the Terriers, which he did against Wolves. He has two goals in 2019 – only Grant has scored more for Huddersfield in that time.
A win against Wolves – their second of the season against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side – only provided temporary relief for Huddersfield and the Terriers have lost five in a row since. They have conceded ten goals in the last three of those – throwing away a 3-1 lead in the last 15 minutes to lose 4-3 at West Ham, after Karlan Grant’s double, before the 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace that confirmed relegation. Last weekend, Aaron Mooy’s penalty could not prevent a 4-1 defeat to Leicester City.
