Our Prediction Tip

Draw will win this match.

Chelsea have won 68 of their 160 previous matches against Tottenham, while Spurs have won 52 and there have been 40 draws. Spurs won at Stamford Bridge when they met in April, however -  Christian Eriksen cancelling out Alvaro Morata’s goal before half-time, before Dele Alli’s second-half double sealed an away win. Their last two meetings at Wembley have both gone Chelsea’s way, however. In the league last year, Marcos Alonso scored twice – either side of Michy Batshuayi’s own goal – in a 2-1 Blues win, while in the FA Cup 2017 semi-final (as a neutral ground, before Spurs’ temporary move) Chelsea won 4-2. Here are the results of their last five competitive matches:
01/04/2018: Chelsea 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur
20/08/2017: Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Chelsea
22/04/2017: Chelsea 4-2 Tottenham Hotspur
04/01/2017: Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Chelsea
26/11/2016: Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

THFC vs CFC Betting Tips

Chelsea may be unbeaten in the league so far but they are just a solitary point ahead of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Nevertheless, they have been tough to break down at the back and scoring goals at the other end with Alvaro Morata recapturing his best form of late and Ross Barkley hitting his stride.

The star player, undoubtedly, is Eden Hazard though – and the Belgian will hope to continue his good form against Spurs.

Tottenham have lost their last four matches against Chelsea at Wembley, including defeat in the league last season.

Spurs also have injuries to contend with, with Juan Foyth – as proven in the narrow win against Wolves – a weaker link than Davinson Sanchez or Jan Vertonghen.

Mousa Dembele’s control will be missed too, and Spurs could even yet be without Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose too.

Of those fit, they are in good form again – Dele Alli scored twice at Stamford Bridge last season and is fit again, while the goalscoring threat of Harry Kane has never been a doubt.

The problem is, they have not showed it enough against Chelsea in the past and the Blues can grab a Wembley result.

A draw would not be the worst result for either side, however, and they could end up cancelling each other out in a close-fought Wembley encounter.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Recommended bets with odds

Chelsea are very narrow favourites at the bookmakers – with a best price of 83/50 on a Chelsea win, compared to 9/5 on a Spurs victory. The draw is 5/2 with Betfair, Betway and 888sport.

Both sides can be backed to win at 5/6 with Bet365 with the draw not bet.

Both teams to score has been set at 8/13 with 10Bet, while a draw and BTTS is 10/3 with Betfair.

Neither side has been short of goals of late, and over 2.5 in Saturday’s match will return 8/11 with 888sport.

And, on the topic of goalscorers, Harry Kane is 6/5 to net at any time with 888sport for Spurs, though Dele Alli could be worth a look at 4/1 with Betway, given his two at Stamford Bridge last season.

For Chelsea, Eden Hazard is 17/10 with Betway to score at any time, while back-in-form Alvaro Morata can be backed at 21/10 with Betfair or Paddy Power.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea Prediction

Chelsea are unbeaten in the league so far this season and, while that only translates to being one point and one place better off than Spurs in the league table, it does mean they will be difficult to beat – as, in all fairness, will Spurs.

Correct Score Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Chelsea

Tottenham Team News

Danny Rose was expected to be close to a comeback after the international break, but Ben Davies may continue at left-back for now. Kieran Trippier faces a late fitness test on the opposite flank but Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele are definitely out, and the match-winner against Crystal Palace, Juan Foyth, may continue at centre-back with Davinson Sanchez a doubt.

Tottenham Key Players

Harry Kane – His double against PSV Eindhoven took him to ten for the season, and he also scored a late winner on England duty.
Erik Lamela – Earned a starting spot having hit some good form of late, scoring six goals and bagging two assists this season.
Dele Alli – Scored twice against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season and the fit-again attacking midfielder will be looking to add more goals.

Tottenham Team Form

Since a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on a dog-eared Wembley pitch, Spurs have won four games in a row in all competitions. They beat West Ham 3-1 in the Carabao Cup, with Son Heung-Min scoring twice, before a 3-2 win at Wolves – which they had led 3-0 thanks to Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane before conceding two penalties. They beat PSV next up, in the Champions League – Kane at the double to snatch a late comeback 2-1 win – before Juan Foyth scored the only goal to beat Crystal Palace last time out.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Chelsea Team News

Mateo Kovacic is a doubt with a muscular injury which could mean a return for in-form Ross Barkley, while Cesc Fabregas is another option. Pedro could start ahead of Willian on the right.

Chelsea Key Players

Eden Hazard – The Belgian maestro has scored eight goals and set up a further four so far and has emerged as an early Player of the Year contender.
Ross Barkley – A frustrating first six months at Everton, the midfielder has hit his stride of late and has three goals and four assists in that time.
Pedro – Started the season in great form and has scored four times so far in this campaign.

Chelsea Team Form

Chelsea’s five match winning run came to a halt at home to Everton last time out, when the Toffees frustrated Maurizio Sarri’s side in a goalless draw. It came on the back of a 1-0 win at BATE Borisov – sealed by Olivier Giroud’s goal – that confirmed progress in the Europa League. They had previously scored ten goals in three games, beating Burnley 4-0, Derby 3-2 in the Carabao Cup and Crystal Palace 3-1. Alvaro Morata scored twice in the latter and Pedro sealed victory.

Chelsea Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

Chelsea have made an unbeaten start to the Premier League season but sit just a point ahead of Tottenham in the league table. Spurs will hope to end their bad run of results against their rivals at Wembley to leapfrog them into third, but Maurizio Sarriā€™s side are tough to beat. A draw could be a fair reflection of where the two clubs are at.
Spurs beat Chelsea in the first League Cup final to be played at the new Wembley Stadium but they have failed to beat the Blues since there since - losing four in a row.
