Sheffield United vs Norwich Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Sheffield United are at 8/13, a draw is at 13/5, and Norwich are at 5/1.

Sheffield United will begin the weekend’s round of fixtures in eighth place on 40 points, two off of fifth place Manchester United, which appears to be what the aim is as Manchester City may not be eligible.  They may be two points back, but the Blades also have a game in hand, so they are effectively in control of their own destiny at this early stage.  In their last five, they have just one loss and they have accrued seven points in the last three outings.  Plus, they are in the FA Cup quarters as well.

Norwich, meanwhile, will enter play in 20th place, once again, but they will have some momentum behind them, regardless of what took place in their FA Cup encounter with Tottenham.  They won last time out at home to Leicester to take them up to 21 points.  They are still six off Watford’s pace in 17th, but that win had to have put some wind back in their proverbial sails.  In their last five matches, they have just four points, though, so they definitely need to keep it up.  But they also won in the aforementioned FA Cup to reach the quarters.

At home, the Blades have been decent this term without being great.  In 14 outings, they have six wins and three draws.  It’s not bad, but it’s not among the best.  In their last five, they have lost just once and have eight points to show via a pair of wins and a pair of draws.  The Canaries, meanwhile, are the worst travelers in the country’s top flight.  They have only six points, via a single win and three draws, in 14 outings.  They have only picked up one point from the last 15 on offer as well.

Betfair have Sharp scoring anytime at 2.6.

Ladbrokes have no for both sides scoring at 4/5.

Sheffield United vs Norwich Prediction

Anything is possible in football, and you would not think there would be a huge difference between these sides, but they have shown that they are not equals at all despite coming up together.  Sheffield United continues to show why they are different here.

Correct Score Prediction: Sheffield United 2-0 Norwich City

Sheffield United Team News

Chris Wilder went with a strong side in the FA Cup, and it paid off in the end, though they need extra time.  That might prompt some changes, but they do not have a ton of depth, so you won’t see too much of that.  Enda Stevens, who is dealing with a calf issue, is the only injury worry, though he is said to have a good chance of playing.

Sheffield United Key Man

There are not many men currently in better form than Billy Sharp is right now.  He’s been involved in four goals in the last four games he has featured in, including scoring the decisive winner in extra time on Tuesday to get them into the last eight of the FA Cup.  They should keep riding him here.  In the middle of the park, John Fleck will be well rested, and that should set off alarms for Norwich.  He’s scored five and assisted twice, which may not look like much, but he also has that sweet left boot as well.

Sheffield United Team Form

Sheffield United have four wins and a draw in their last five matches:

1-2 extra time win at Reading (FA Cup)
1-1 home draw vs Brighton
2-1 home win vs Bournemouth
0-1 win at Crystal Palace
0-2 win at Millwall (FA Cup)

Sheffield United Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 3-5-2

Norwich Team News

Daniel Farke has a number of players being limited due to injury woes.  Timm Klose, Ralf Fahrmann, Sam Byram, Christoph Zimmermann, and Onel Hernandez are ruled out.  Both Teemu Pukki and Alex Tettey have been dealing with problems of their own, but each stand a decent chance of playing here.

Norwich Key Man

To be fair, goals have not been frequent of late from Teemu Pukki.  But even with that fact being true, you have to believe he is the man to watch here.  The Finn has been the one to show he has composure, consistently in front of goal.  He may not be the league’s best, but he is their best.  In midfield, Todd Cantwell continues to show off well.  He’s had some splendid touches and has had his moments, but if he is truly the type of players the bigger clubs are looking for, he needs to show even more.

Norwich Team Form

Norwich have two draws, a win, and two losses in their last five matches:

1-1 draw, penalty win at Tottenham (FA Cup)
1-0 home win vs Leicester
3-0 loss at Wolves
0-1 home loss vs Liverpool
0-0 draw at Newcastle

Norwich Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

This one looks pretty much cut and dry to us, even if Norwich come into the match with a bit of form, finally. Sheffield United have serious European ambitions (who would have thought that prior to the season?), and they will not be too keen upon letting those slip away against the Canaries. It's crazy to think that they came up together just a few months ago. The Blades have pushed on, and it will be tough to see the Canaries taking anything from this clash.
Norwich have only one away point from the last 15 on offer in the Premier League.
