NIC vs MON Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Nice are at 3.10 to win, a draw is at 3.50, and a Monaco win is at 2.20.

Nice come into this weekend’s final fixture of the season with 53 points so far in eighth place.  It’s not been a brilliant season, but it hasn’t been a disaster under new-to-European football manager Patrick Vieira, and that will be seen as win for a club that has been up and down over the past handful of years.  In their last three matches, they have just two points, so they will look to turn that around and build momentum for next term.  A win could see them climb to seventh, but a loss could see them finish up in ninth.

Monaco come into this match still within mathematical possibility of facing relegation.  They have 36 points and are in 16th, three points above Caen in 18th, which should mean they are safe.  Then again, you just never know.  It’s a been a yo-yo season for them, going from Jardim to Henry back to Jardim. They got better, then got worse all over again and just stopped the rot with that critical win over Amiens last weekend.  They have a superior goal difference, so they should be safe, but a point here would assure them of their safety no matter what happens.

The Eaglets have enjoyed a middling sort of year in relation to their home record.  As far as home matches go, they are in ninth having picked up 31 points from 18 games.  It’s neither great nor disastrous, and thus helps explain where they are overall.  They have been miserly at home, both in front of goal and defensively.  They have scored 17 and let in 14, meaning games haven’t been the most entertaining there.  With just one loss and eight points from their last five, but they are very formidable.

The Red and Whites enter the season’s final match with a decent away record that has them above a number of others, perhaps showing how they are just about up.  They have earned half of their 36 points on the road, though they still have won just four times and lost eight of those 18 matches so far.  It’s far from wonderful, as is their last four matches, which have resulted in just two points total, something that they must improve upon in order to push forward.

No for both teams scoring, via Ladbrokes, is at 11/10.

Betfair have under 1.5 goals for 3.6.

Nice vs AS Monaco Prediction

Monaco have had a downright rocky go of it, and even though they are facing a Nice side with seemingly little to play for, you just have to believe that the Principality side will end up throwing a poor result out to make it a little more exciting to end the season.

Correct Score Prediction: Nice 1-0 AS Monaco

Nice Team News

Patrick Vieira will be missing Wylan Cyprien, Mohamed Diaby, and Myziane Maolida due to injuries.  Center back Dante is eligible to return having served suspension.

Nice Key Man

Alan Saint-Maximin, a purported target of bigger clubs in the past, is always one to watch going forward.  He has blazing speed and can score and create goals as well, as has been demonstrated by the six he has scored and the three he has assisted.  Fellow winger Youcef Atal, an Algerian international, has also scored quite a few goals this season, notching six of them to go level with Saint-Maximin on top of the scoring charts at this stage.

Nice Team Form

Nice have two losses, two draws, and a win in their last five matches:

3-0 loss at Saint Etienne
1-1 home draw vs Nantes
1-1 draw at PSG
3-0 home win vs Guingamp
0-1 home loss vs Caen

Nice Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

Monaco Team News

Leonardo Jardim will be missing goalkeeper Danijel Subasic and forwards Willem Geubbels, Stevan Jovetic, and Pietro Pellegri due to injuries.  Center back Jemerson will miss out via suspension.

Monaco Key Man

Monaco would be absolutely nowhere if they didn’t have the services of Radamel Falcao up front.  The Colombian has registered 15 goals in an abysmal season for them, accounting for nearly a third of their goals.  Aleksandr Golovin is another key man to keep watch of, especially after his strong showing in the win over Amiens last time out.  Not only did he set up Falcao’s goal, the opener, but he would score with eight minutes left to seal the points and just about afford them safety.

Monaco Team Form

Monaco have a win, three losses, and a draw in their last five matches:

2-0 home win vs Amiens
1-0 loss at Nimes
2-3 home loss vs Saint Etienne
2-2 draw at Rennes
3-1 loss at PSG

Monaco Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-4-2

It has been a roller coaster season, to say the least, for Monaco so far. They have had their ups and downs, and they have (maybe?) come out of the latest of the downs to ensure they are still in the Ligue come next term. That being said, there is still a little bit of work to do. A result here would make sure they are able to be in the top flight come the new season, but a loss does leave them on the brink, should results elsewhere go poorly. Seeing how up and down it has been, it would be no shock at all to see them lose here.
Monaco's win over Amiens last weekend ended a run of seven matches without a Ligue 1 victory.
