NED vs BLR Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Netherlands are at 1/7 to win, a draw is at 7/1, and a Belarus win is at 14/1.

Netherlands come into this match in buoyant mood.  This will be the first match they have played in the calendar year, but they will still be overjoyed given the amount of success they have had of late compared to the troubles of not so long ago.  In the last year, they have only lost twice.  One of those was away to World champions France, the other at home to England in a friendly.  They won their Nations League group, too, showing that they have possibly gotten out of the woes from before by combining some strong veterans with incredibly talented young talent.  Overall, they have four wins, four draws, and two losses in ten matches in the last year.

As for Belarus, they have also really been rounding into form of late. They dominated their group, D-2, of the Nations League to win without a single loss.  It must be said, though, that the group was much weaker than the Netherlands have encountered, so that has to be taken into account.  Ahead of this match, they are in good form, though, so they might not be as much of an outsider here as you’d believe.  They have only lost once in the past year, away to France in a friendly, winning six times and also drawing three others.  So, they are on a good run and certainly should be encouraged by that.

Ladbrokes have no for both sides scoring at ½.

Depay scoring anytime, via Betfair, can be had 1.66.

Netherlands vs Belarus Prediction

Despite the Netherlands’ struggles in the run-up to World Cup 2018, they still largely dominated Belarus. They won both matches, and now that they are even better, you’d expect them to pick up where they left of from.

Correct Score Prediction: Netherlands 3-0 Belarus

Netherlands Team News

Ronald Koeman has largely kept the same team that he had for the Nations League fixtures back in November that saw them top the group, with the likes of center back Virgil van Dijk and forward Memphis Depay highlighting the squad.

Netherlands Key Man

It took a late, late show from them to secure the group win in the UNL, but they got the job done.  A lot of that was down to Virgil van Dijk, who has started scoring goals recently.  The Liverpool center back scored in the draw with Germany, a late, late equalizer, and he’s been scoring at club level in addition to his world-class defending.  Going forward, it’s Memphis Depay that needs to be watched.  The Lyon man scored the third goal in the 1-3 win over the same opponents back in 2017, and he’s likely to lead the line here as they look for a strong start.

Netherlands Team Form

Netherlands have two draws, two wins, and a loss in their last five matches:

2-2 draw at Germany (UNL)
2-0 home win vs France (UNL)
1-1 draw at Belgium (Fri)
3-0 home win vs Germany (UNL)
2-1 loss at France (UNL)

Netherlands Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Belarus Team News

Igor Kriushenko has decided to leave out the likes of center back Sergey Politevich and goalkeeper Sergey Chernik, who each started the victory on the final day of the UNL group stages, for this qualifying match.

Belarus Key Man

One of the top scorers in the entire Nations League ended up being Stanislau Dragun, and the midfielder will be a bright spot for his side here, or at least his nation will hope as much.  He registered five times in the UNL, only one off highest scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic of Serbia.  Anton Saroka, a striker, also had a fine showing in the UNL, grabbing three goals of his own as well as two assists.  They will need each of them to be exemplary to carry that over to this match, however.

Belarus Team Form

Belarus have three wins and two draws in their last five matches:

0-2 win at San Marino (UNL)
0-2 win at Luxembourg (UNL)
0-0 home draw vs Moldova (UNL)
1-0 home win vs Luxembourg (UNL)
0-0 draw at Moldova (UNL)

Belarus Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

It hasn't been the prettiest of four-year stretches for the Dutch at all. They have missed two major tournaments, one of which should have been easier than ever before to make, but they now look like they have come out the other end of the dark tunnel. After overcoming France and Germany to win their Nations League group, they are very much expected to do big things. A home win over Belarus should be nothing more than routine for them.
Netherlands have failed to make the past two tournaments, missing out on the 2016 European Championships and the World Cup last year as well.
