Manchester United have beaten Manchester City twice this season. In the Premier League, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial scored in a 2-1 win at the Etihad – Nicolas Otamendi pulling a goal back for the hosts. Nemanja Matic then scored the only goal of their most recent meeting at the Etihad, in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, before he was later sent off. City’s 3-1 win at Old Trafford in the first leg – courtesy of Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez and an Andreas Pereira own goal, before Rashford pulled one back – ultimately ensured City reached the final, however, where they lifted the trophy last weekend.

Manchester City may have lost both home matches to Manchester United this season, but they proved their superiority when they were last at Old Trafford and ran riot in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.
More recently, they have won five in a row in all competitions – a run of form that has earned them yet another domestic trophy, put them in charge of their Champions League tie with Real Madrid and saw them beat Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup too.
Sergio Aguero is back in the goals and, while Kevin de Bruyne’s absence will be keenly felt in this game, the likes of Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez continue to impress.
For United, they have added Bruno Fernandes since City were last at Old Trafford, and he will be key going forward.
Rodri and Fernandinho will need to keep him under wraps, while Anthony Martial – who has a good record against City – is another attacking player to watch.
Both teams have stepped things up and caught the other cold in the Derby this season – United in the league fixture at the Etihad, City at Old Trafford in the cup.
