It has been ten years since Lyon and Bayern Munich last met in the Champions League, and that was in the semi-finals too, in the 2009-10 campaign. Bayern won 1-0 at home and 3-0 away that year, but went on to lose in the final to Inter Milan. Lyon have won just two of their eight previous meetings with Bayern.
