LFC vs NOR Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Liverpool are at 1/7, a draw is at 7/1, and a Norwich win is at 14/1.

Liverpool come into this match off the back of a penalty loss in the Community Shield, but it’s not a hugely damaging one.  Instead, they will be encouraged by their second half showing, which was excellent.  That follows on from what was their best season in a long, long time.  They finished second on 97 points, one off of City for the title, and they also lifted the Champions League for the sixth time.  This will be their first official match since then, so it will be a very special occasion to say the least.

Norwich have been buidling a side for a few years now, and under Daniel Farke they have hit it just right.  They were releaged in 2016 and are now back after a short stint away, but one that was very fruitful.  Their playing style has changed dramatically under the German, who had them playing very wel in the Championship.  So well, in fact, that they overtook Leeds toward the end of the season, ending up on top by five points above Sheffield United.

Salah scoring twice or more is at 3.6 via Betfair.

Ladbrokes have over 2.5 total goals at 2/5 odds.

Liverpool vs Norwich City Prediction

Norwich had a decent preseason and Liverpool had an up and down one, but judging by their last outings, it’s hard to think Liverpool won’t run riot here.  If they play as well as they did against City, they will put three points on the board and start the season on top.

Correct Score Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Norwich City

Liverpool Team News

Jurgen Klopp is hoping that James Milner will be fit here, but it doesn’t look like he would risk him even if so, especially givne his choices up front.  Sadio Mane is back in training, but he is unlikely to play, barring a role off the bench.  Even that is not very probable, unless they are in trouble of dropping points.

Liverpool Key Man

Mo Salah ran rampant in the second half on Sunday against Manchester City, getting off shot after shot, yet he failed to score.  The twice Golden Boot winner isn’t always as lethal as he could be, but he could find himself being the ‘new’ Suarez here if they can get the first early on.  In midfield, Jordan Henderson will be massive, especially if the Canaries are stubborn.  His pressing and his passing and crossing is sublime and could be just the pick-me-up they need in tough spots.

Liverpool Team Form

Liverpool have two draws, a win, and two losses in their last five matches:

1-1 draw, penalty loss vs Manchester City (Community Shield)
3-1 win vs Lyon
0-3 loss vs Napoli
2-2 draw vs Sporting Lisbon
1-2 loss vs Sevilla

Liverpool Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

Norwich Team News

Daniel Farke has seen very little activity this summer, so he will be relying upon the same team that got them promotion.  Goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann is out with muscular problems, so he will miss out on the opener here.

Norwich Key Man

The man that Norwich will be counting on for goals this season will be their star man, Teemu Pukki.  The Finn bundled a total of 29 goals in 43 appearances in the Championship last term, showing his quality.  However, doing it in the PL will be much tougher, so it will be interesting to see he pushes on.  Goalkeeper Tim Krul knows all too well what the Prem is like, having featured for Newcstle for years.  He’s great at saving penalties and he’s been around the block.  He’ll need ot be brilliant here for them to have a chance, you’d have to think.

Norwich Team Form

Norwich have three wins and two losses in their last five matches:

1-0 win vs Toulouse
1-4 loss vs Atalanta
1-5 win vs Luton Town
1-3 home vs Brentford
1-2 win vs Schalke

Norwich Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-5-1

It's been far from pretty for Norwich in the past against Liverpool, but they will at least have the plus of not havng to face Luis Suarez this time around. Still yet, it's a very difficult task for them against the Reds, who looked incredibly impressive against City on Sunday in the Community Shield. Norwich will either stay up or go down based on how they play against the teams around them, so this is going to be seen as nothing but a bonus, should they grab a shock result.
Liverpool haven't lost any of their last 12 outings against Norwich, winning ten of those and drawing just twice since 1995.
