LFC vs MUFC Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Liverpool are at 4/11, a draw is at 17/4, and Manchester United are at 7/1.

Liverpool come into this match in their same dominant position they have been in for much of the season.  They are on top of the division by 14 over Manchester City as the round begins, with a game in hand, but there are one or two worry signs.  While they did win at Tottenham, they looked laboured in doing so and didn’t take their chances to run away early on.  Still yet, the fact of the matter is that they have dropped two points all season, against these very same opponents, so a title win is very likely.

Manchester United, on the other hand, will come into this one in fifth place needing to make up some spots.  They are on 34 points after winning three of their last four now, putting them five off of Chelsea’s pace for the final Champions League position.  There is work to be done, but they continue to fight well and will not be allowing Liverpool, hopefully in their minds, to have an easy victory here.  It will be tough, but this is still a team that is capable on their collective day.

Liverpool’s home record has been nearly impervious this term.  They have looked unstoppable at Anfield, winning all 11 matches for a perfect 33 from 33.  They have given up just nine goals total, with none coming in the last three outings. United’s away form, though, has been pretty woeful.  They have three wins and three draws for a total of 12 points, putting them right in the middle of the table in that regard.  They have lost on two of their last three trips and have seven points from the last 15 on offer.

Ladbrokes have both teams scoring 17/20.

Betfair have Mane or Salah to score anytime at 1.91.

Liverpool vs Man United Prediction

Manchester United can definitely present issues for Liverpool, as they did at Old Trafford, but the problem is that they have to keep up a very high level of performance throughout.  That proves too much in the end as the Reds ease away.

Correct Score Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Manchester United

Liverpool Team News

Jurgen Klopp will be pleased with the fact that both Fabinho and Joel Matip are closing in on returns, but neither of them should be expected to play from the start here.  Dejan Lovren is another close to a return, while Naby Keita and James Milner appear to be set to miss out along with want away Nathaniel Clyne.

Liverpool Key Man

Liverpool’s lineup is pretty easy, mostly, to pick here for this match.  It’d be dumb to stray too far from the usual, as that is one thing that could hurt them.  Roberto Firmino is a big, big player for them, and though he hasn’t scored at home in a long time and doesn’t score a ton, he’s still the man that puts it all together.  At the back, a lot of people have overlooked Joe Gomez of late.  Liverpool haven’t give up a goal for a while, and though he does have van Dijk alongside, he, too, has to get a ton of credit for it.

Liverpool Team Form

Liverpool have won each of their last five matches:

0-1 win at Tottenham
1-0 home win vs Everton (FA Cup)
2-0 home win vs Sheffield United
1-0 home win vs Wolves
0-4 win at Leicester

Liverpool Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

Man United Team News

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a number of men sidelined, with Paul Pogba spearheading the list.  Scott McTominay, Axel Tuanzebe, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Eric Bailly, and Tim Fosu-Mensah are also set to miss out.  Marcus Rashford, who limped off on Wednesday, is said to be a doubt to feature in this gargantuan clash.

Man United Key Man

With Rashford’s status up in the air for this one, a lot of eyes should turn their gaze toward Anthony Martial.  The French striker debuted for United with a goal against the Reds, and if Rash isn’t in the team, he’ll be their top man with eight so far, putting a big load on his shoulders.  Out wide, Dan James is another to keep an eye on.  With his pace, he could provide a moment or two of uncomfortable-ness for the Reds’ full backs.  He has six assists, a team high, and three goals in a fine debut season for them thus far.

Man United Team Form

Manchester United have two wins, two losses, and a draw in their last five matches:

1-0 home win vs Wolves (FA Cup)
4-0 home win vs Norwich
1-3 home loss vs Manchester City (EFL Cup)
0-0 draw at Wolves (FA Cup)
2-0 loss at Arsenal

Man United Predicted starting Line up

Expected Line up: (4-2-3-1)

Liverpool have absolutely rolled over the competition at home this term. Even when they have not played well, they have racked up win after win, making Anfield a fortress and taking over opposition stadiums, too. Manchester United, as the only side to have stopped them a bit this season, and as an apt counter attacking side will be a problem for them, but you just don't see the Reds slipping here. Not here, not yet, as they charge on toward a title.
Liverpool's 61 points thus far has them as the most successful side in the history of the top five European leagues through 21 matches played.
