Liverpool won 3-0 at Burnley back in August to make it four wins in a row in this fixture and five out of the last six since a rare defeat at Turf Moor in 2016. It has been normal service resumed for Liverpool since a sluggish, post-title celebrations performance led to a heavy defeat at Manchester City.
The Reds were rattled by their 4-0 defeat if Jurgen Klopp’s post-match interview was anything to go by, but two professional performances have been the perfect response.
Wins against Aston Villa and Brighton mean they now need eight points from their last four games to reach the 100-point mark.
At home to Burnley, who they beat comfortably earlier in the season, they will expect to do just that – though Burnley are in decent form themselves.
Three wins and a draw since a crushing defeat to Manchester City have kept them tidily placed in mid-table and very much still looking for sixth place and potential European qualification.
They have conceded just one goal in their last four games too, despite injuries in the defence and a depleted squad.
While they are outsiders for this match, Sean Dyche’s side are at least in a good position moving forward to the end of the season again.
Nevertheless, as stubborn as the Clarets can be to beat, Liverpool have won the title so convincingly because they have so often found a way to win these games.
Sadio Mane’s goals have been integral to that, while Mo Salah scored two and set one up last time out too.
Liverpool remain favourites to win and they should secure all three points to move to 95 with three games remaining.

Mo Salah is 8/11 with Betway to score at any time, while Sadio Mane can be backed at a best price of 49/50 with 888sport to do likewise.
Liverpool are back to normal service and should find a way to break down this stubborn Burnley defence too.
Neco Williams started at left-back last time out, but the young full-back could make way for Andrew Robertson this time, who replaced him and supplied an assist last time out. Sadio Mane might also return to the starting line-up and James Milner is fit again. Jordan Henderson could miss out with a knee injury.
Sadio Mane – In excellent form this season, his goals have so often proved to be important ones – as was the case again against Aston Villa.
Mo Salah – Two goals and an assist last time out means the Egyptian now has 19 goals for the season and remains in with a chance at the golden boot.
Roberto Firmino – Lower key up front than the other two so far, the Brazilian striker may want to make more of an impact over the final few games.
Liverpool have won three of their last four league games, with the only exception being the heavy 4-0 defeat at Manchester City that spoiled their title celebrations. They have since won 2-0 at home to Aston Villa, with Sadio Mane and Curtis Jones on target, and then won 3-1 at Brighton with Mo Salah scoring twice and setting up Jordan Henderson for the other.
Ben Mee and Matthew Lowton are both sidelined, leaving Burnley a little light at the back, while Jack Cork is set for a lengthy stay on the sidelines too. Ashley Barnes has not played since the season restarted, while the Clarets’ squad has already been thinned by out-of-contract players leaving at the end of June. Chris Wood did come off the bench last time out though and he may start up front.
Jay Rodriguez – A well-timed run and header was enough to see off West Ham last time out – his second winning goal in four matches.
Nick Pope – The England hopeful has kept three clean sheets in his last four matches and so will play a key part in goal if Burnley are to keep Liverpool out too.
James Tarkowski – Helped Burnley to those three clean sheets in four games and he is the only regular defensive starter currently in the back four. He also scored against Sheffield United.
Burnley are unbeaten in their last four matches, winning three and conceding just one goal in that time. Last time out, James Rodriguez scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 at West Ham, as he had done in similar circumstances against Watford too. Prior to the West Ham win, Burnley drew 1-1 with Sheffield United, with James Tarkowski scoring their goal.
