Manchester City have beaten Leicester 60 times in 119 previous meetings, including their 3-1 home win just before Christmas. They did lose their last match at the King Power Stadium 2-1, on Boxing Day in 2018, but they won the reverse fixture last season when Vincent Kompany’s goal kept the hosts on track for the title. This season, Jamie Vardy gave the Foxes the lead at the Etihad, but Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus all netted as City came from behind to win 3-1.

With a huge gap opening up to Liverpool now, as Leicester and Manchester City have failed to find the same consistency as the league leaders, these two are vying for second place.
Pep Guardiola’s side got back to winning ways in mid-week, with a much-needed 2-0 win against West Ham that cemented Kevin de Bruyne’s superb form if nothing else.
They may have one eye on the match against Real Madrid as they gear up for Leicester, and team selection could reflect that, but they will want to carry on their momentum now.
After bullish statements regarding their UEFA ban, and angry refutal of all allegations, City now need to put together similarly spirited performances on the pitch.
Leicester’s form this season, until recently, has also been excellent, however, and they remain clear in third place.
They need to avoid defeat, however, as they would open up a gap to second and leave them in no man’s land between the two – albeit, Champions League qualification in any form will represent a good season.
It remains the case that their form has dropped away slightly, however, and a visit from the champions will not have been top of their list of desired fixtures as they bid to bounce back.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been inconsistent this season, but now is the time to start stringing results together and they can certainly come away from Leicester with all three points.
Manchester City are 3/4 favourites to win with Betway as they look to back up their return to winning ways in mid-week.

Sergio Aguero is favourite to score at any time, at a best price of 22/25 with 888sport, but he may rested for Madrid and so Gabriel Jesus at 5/4 with 888sport looks a good price.
Manchester City got back to winning ways in mid-week and will want to build on that momentum as they prepare for their trip to Madrid.
Hamza Choudhury will miss out due to suspension, while Nampy Mendy is out injured and Wilfred Ndidi is not yet back to full fitness either. Ryan Bennett could not face Wolves last week, but he comes back into contention in defence.
Jamie Vardy – Looking to end his recent goal drought and reignite his charge for the golden boot, having scored 17 goals in 24 matches this season.
James Maddison – The playmaker has scored six goals in 25 appearances so far this season and will look to get at this City defence at home.
Jonny Evans – Linked heavily with a move to City a couple of seasons ago, but now leading the Leicester defence and likely to be key against City’s front line.
Leicester’s form has deserted them a little recently – they lost away to Aston Villa in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final despite Kelechi Iheanacho, missing out on Wembley as a result, while Harvey Barnes and Ben Chilwell’s goals could only earn a 2-2 draw at home to Chelsea. They returned from their winter break with a goalless draw at Wolves.
Leroy Sane is closing in on a return to injury but this match might be too soon, while Raheem Sterling is unlikely to be risked before the Real Madrid match either. Oleksandr Zinchenko is back from suspension and could slot in for Benjamin Mendy at left-back, but David Silva – who limped off in the win against West Ham – is another unlikely to be risked with one eye on the trip to Madrid.
Gabriel Jesus – His goalscoring touch deserted him against West Ham, but the Brazilian striker scored one of his 16 goals so far this season when these teams last met.
Kevin de Bruyne – Once again emerging as a serious contender for PFA Player of the Year, having added his eight league goal of the season and 16th assist in the win against West Ham.
Riyad Mahrez – Scored against his former club at the Etihad this season, and will want to mark his birthday week with more celebrations at the weekend.
After defeats to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur prior to their winter break – though the former did not stop them advancing from their Carabao Cup semi-final on aggregate – City got back to winning ways against West Ham in mid-week. In a totally dominant performance, Rodri and Kevin de Bruyne scored the goals that ensure City now sit four points clear of Leicester.
