Leicester City vs Chelsea Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Leicester are at +150, a draw is at +250, and Chelsea are at +162.

Leicester will start this round in third place in the table with 48 points from their opening 24 games.  That is far above where many thought they would be, but they have had their issues of late.  They will not be headed to Wembley after losing on Tuesday in the EFL Cup semis and they have lost two of their last three in the PL to see them dragged down a bit.  Still yet, they are 14 points above Manchester United in fifth, so they should be able to get across the line and finish inside the top four, you’d think.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will begin play in fourth spot with 40 points to their credits.  They have had issues of their own of late as well, winning just one of their last four and taking five points out of those 12 on offer in that run.  Despite that fact, they are still six points above United for the final Champions League place.  Inconsistency has been their main woe, but apart from Liverpool, the same could be said for virtually every single side in the division.

The Foxes home record so far this term has seen them win eight and draw twice in 12 outings.  With that said, three of the four times they have dropped points, and both of those losses, have come in the last four home matches.  Four points from their last 12 is not the best by a long shot.  The Blues’ away record has been quite impressive.  They half over half- 22 to be exact- of their points from away matches.  However, they have two of those losses in the last five and have only one point from their last six available.

Ladbrokes have both sides scoring at ½.

Betfair have Vardy scoring anytime at 1.91.

Leicester City vs Chelsea Prediction

Both teams have the capability of playing some really good football, and that’s what we should see here.  Some would have the visitors are favorites, with a slightly more rest, but they don’t have the best record in recent years with the Foxes.

Correct Score Prediction: Leicester 1-1 Chelsea

Leicester Team News

Brendan Rodgers has injuries that will rule out both Nampalys Mendy and Daniel Amartey here.  Matthew James and Jamie Vardy are possibilities to feature, however, so that last bit could be a big boost in particular.

Leicester Key Man

Jamie Vardy has not been in top shape of late, and that has cost the Foxes quite a bit in some of their outings.  Not having the PL’s top scorer, who has 17 to his name, is a big miss, so they will be craving his appearance here and will hope he is fully fit as well.  Out wide, Harvey Barnes will come into this match looking to follow up his showing against West Ham.  He dominated that match, scoring the opener and then setting up the second goal.

Leicester Team Form

Leicester have three losses and two wins in their last five matches:

2-1 loss at Aston Villa (EFL Cup)
0-1 win at Brentford (FA Cup)
4-1 home win vs West Ham
2-1 loss at Burnley
1-2 home loss vs Southampton

Leicester Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-5-1

Chelsea Team News

Frank Lampard continues to miss out on the services of Christian Pulisic, Marco van Ginkel, and Reece James due to injuries.  Ruben Loftus-Cheek is closing in on a return, but he is not quite ready as of yet.  Tammy Abraham and rumored want away Olivier Giroud are each doubts to feature but could play a role.

Chelsea Key Man

With Abraham a doubt to play, it will be interesting to see if Michy Batshuayi gets another chance.  The Belgian is inconsistent and infuriating at times, but he did score against Hull and is capable.  Might he show that here with a priceless goal?  Another to watch has to be N’Golo Kante.  A former Fox, the midfielder is so vital to the Blues’ cause, even when he is unpopularly played out of his preferred position.

Chelsea Team Form

Chelsea have three wins, a draw, and a loss in their last five matches:

1-2 win at Hull City (FA Cup)
2-2 home draw vs Arsenal
1-0 loss at Newcastle
3-0 home win vs Burnley
2-0 home win vs Nottingham Forest (FA Cup)

Chelsea Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

This one is very, very tough to call right now. Leicester are not in a very good way, but it's also fair to say that Chelsea are not in the best of form, either. Both of them are favored, due to their standing, to make the top four at season's end, but it is no guarantee should they continue to falter. Chelsea have had a lot of problems downing the Foxes lately, and because of that, we could very well see the sides splitting the points.
Chelsea haven't managed to defeat Leicester in normal time in any of their last five outings against one another.
