A solemn goalless draw earlier in the season – in Leicester’s first home match since Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s death – was the 31st draw between these two teams but only the second in the Premier League. Burnley have won 45 of the other 80 matches, to Leicester’s 35. The most recent Burnley win was at Turf Moor last season when Chris Wood scored against his former team and Kevin Long added a second before, with Jamie Vardy’s reply not enough to stop a 2-1 Burnley win.

Leicester have already beaten two teams stuck in the relegation battle in recent weeks, but the trip to Burnley will be a test of their poor away form.
Brendan Rodgers is only responsible for one of their away defeats, of course, but the players have a lot to prove after four defeats and a draw in their last five matches on the road.
Burnley need to take advantage of the Foxes’ poor away form, having lost three in a row since their victory against Spurs.
That win looked to be pulling the Clarets out of relegation trouble but they are right back in the mix now – and this weekend could be a key one in their battle to stay up.
Brighton’s FA Cup commitments mean their match against Cardiff has been postponed, while Southampton are also not in action due to Watford’s quarter-final tie too.
That means a win for Burnley will lift them level on points with Brighton – five clear of Cardiff and three ahead of Southampton.
While all three will have a game in hand, of course, Burnley need to make sure they are the team with points on the board at the end of the weekend.
Whether they can do that depends which Burnley turn up – on the one hand, this is the same team that beat Spurs just a few weeks ago but on the other they have now lost three in a row.
If Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes can fire again, however, Burnley are more than capable of taking all three points against a Leicester team who do not travel well.
Leicester are higher in the table than Burnley and therefore favourites with the bookmakers, but do not underestimate the importance of Burnley’s home form – and the lack of Leicester’s away form. The Clarets are 21/10 to win with Betway and 888sport.

Burnley may have lost three in a row but they do have home advantage and the Foxes have not travelled well this season.
Sean Dyche has remained consistent with his team selection in recent weeks but may be tempted to reshuffle his side as he looks to end Burnley’s current losing streak. Johan Berg Gudmundsson stepped off the bench to score against Liverpool, and he must be close to a return to the starting line-up. Steven Defour and Aaron Lennon are still out injured.
Ashley Barnes – Scored Burnley’s most recent winning goal, netting in the 2-1 win against Spurs, and has since moved to ten goals for the season.
Chris Wood – Scored against his former team when Burnley won this fixture last season and is level with Barnes as joint-top scorer this time out.
Johan Berg Gudmundsson – Stepped off the bench to pull a goal back at Anfield last weekend and has also delivered six assists from the win this season.
Burnley have still not won since a 2-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur in which both strikers, Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes, netted for the Clarets. It is now three straight defeats since – a 2-0 loss to Newcastle, a 3-1 thumping against Crystal Palace in which Barnes netted a late consolation, and last weekend’s 4-2 defeat to Liverpool despite Ashley Westwood’s early opener. Johan Berg Gudmundsson made it 3-2 in stoppage time, but Liverpool snuffed out any chance of a comeback with an even later fourth.
Daniel Amartey has still not returned after requiring ankle surgery, with this initial prognosis of a four-month absence now passed. Marc Albrighton is Leicester’s only other injury worry, however – the midfielder is out with what former manager Claude Puel described as a ‘serious hamstring injury’.
Jamie Vardy – Looks back to his goalscoring best after four in his last three matches, including his late double to win the game against Fulham last weekend.
Demarai Gray – His opener against Brighton recently was his fourth goal of the season, while he scored the winner at home to Burnley last season.
Harry Maguire – England centre-back will have his work cut out as he looks to combat the physicality of Wood and Barnes up front for Burnley.
Leicester have won their last two home matches but away form continues to desert them. Since Claude Puel’s sacking, Leicester have won at home against Brighton and Fulham but lost away at Watford. Demarai Gray and Jamie Vardy scored in a 2-1 defeat of the former, while Vardy struck twice last weekend in a 3-1 win, after Youri Tielemans early goal had been cancelled out. In between, Vardy was again the goalscorer in a 2-1 defeat to the Hornets.
