Our Prediction Tip

Belgium will win this match.

Belgium have won eight of the 12 matches they have played against Hungary, suffering only two defeats in footballing history to their second-round opponents at Euro 2016. In fact, it is almost 60 years since Hungary were able to beat Belgium, with four wins in a row in this fixture for the Belgians, who have conceded only one goal in that sequence.

The last time Hungary played Belgium, in a 2009 international friendly, they were beaten 3-0, a result that some of Storck's men will no doubt have in the back of their mind this weekend.

Hungary v Belgium: Prediction

Belgium have been growing into the tournament and Wilmots finally seems to have decided on his best team, although he is a coach who likes to tinker. Hungary have been exciting to watch but the gaps they leave at the back should be exploited by the likes of Lukaku and De Bruyne, while Kiraly looked every one of his 40 years when struggling to keep Portugal efforts out in Hungary's last game. This could be another high-scoring match but Belgium should have too much firepower.

Hungary v Belgium: Betting Tips

The price of 4/6 on Belgium reflects the fact there are still doubts over Wilmots' leadership, but those odds look decent value considering the rich attacking potential he has at his disposal. Hungary, meanwhile, can be backed at as big as 6/1, while the draw is available at reasonable odds of around 13/5. Both teams to score is worth a look at a price of 7/4, while over 2.5 goals is a juicy-looking 9/5 for this clash.

Hungary served up the best match of the tournament last time out, with a 3-3 draw with Portugal absolutely thrilling. Coach Bernd Storck will be hoping 37-year-old Zoltan Gera, who scored a stunner to open the scoring, is fit enough to start his fourth game of the tournament.

Adam Szalai is likely to continue up front, while the captain Balazs Dzsudzsak is one to watch after scoring twice against Portugal, albeit with the aid of a deflection for each strike. The charismatic, jogging bottom-wearing goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly, 40, will be between the posts.

Hungary likely XI:

Kiraly, Lang, Juhasz, Guzmics, Korhut, Pinter, Gera, Elek, Dzsudzsak, Kleinheisler, Szalai.

A poor start against Italy has been followed by two wins with clean sheets for Belgium, who are the top-ranked team in the tournament. Romelu Lukaku has looked sharp after a bad performance in the Italy defeat, but there are still plenty of question marks over Marc Wilmots' tactics.

Radja Nainggolan scored the only goal of the game against Sweden last time out and should retain his place in midfield as a result, meaning Marouane Fellaini would miss out.

Belgium likely XI:

Courtois, Meunier, Alderweireld, Vermaelen, Vertonghen, Nainggolan, Witsel, Carrasco, De Bruyne, Hazard, Lukaku.

Belgium are the top-ranked side at Euro 2016 and this is an ideal second-round tie for Wilmots\' men to show off their vast potential. Hungary should not be underestimated after they won Group F, a huge shock considering the teams in that section, but it looks like this is as far as they will go in the competition. Belgium to win a thriller, with lots of goals.
Belgium have beaten Hungary four times in a row, conceding just once in that run.
