Hull City
VS
Manchester United

Our Prediction Tip

Draw will win this match.

Manchester United are unbeaten in their last six matches against Hull City, although they were held to a 0-0 draw in this fixture last season, with Marouane Fellaini shown a late red card for the Red Devils.

In fact, United have had a man sent off on each of their last two visits to Hull, but they have avoided defeat all four times they have played Saturday's opponents.

United will be well known to Phelan as he spent most of his non-playing career at Old Trafford.

Hull City v Manchester United: Prediction

Manchester United have their old swagger back and with the likes of Pogba and Ibrahimovic they are going to be serious contenders for the Premier League title this year. Hull City, on the other hand, were widely tipped for a battle against the drop and have surprised everyone by claiming wins from their first two matches of the season. It is hard to see them making it three in a row here but Phelan clearly has the trust of his players and they might well be able to hold United to a draw.

Hull City v Manchester United: Betting Tips

Hull can be backed at a price of 7/1 to beat United despite their 100 per cent start to the new campaign, which shows how sceptical the bookies are that the Tigers can continue their fine form. United are available at odds of 1/2 here, but 3/1 on the draw is the most appealing option from the match odds market for this Premier League match.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hit the back of the net in every match he has played for Manchester United so far, notching a brace in their win last weekend, and the Swede is a very tempting 20/21 to continue that fine start to his career at the club with another goal against Hull.

After winning their first two matches of the new season, there is little reason for caretaker Hull manager Mike Phelan to change his team, although Shaun Maloney may have earned a place in the side. Maloney scored the opener from the bench in a 2-0 win at Swansea City last time out and also set up star striker Abel Hernandez too, so he could come into the starting XI. Harry Maguire could be fit enough for the bench after playing in the EFL Cup win over Exeter City.

Hull City likely XI:

  • Goalkeeper:- Jakupovic

  • Defenders:- Elmohamady, Davies, Livermore, Robertson

  • Midfielders:- Snodgrass, Huddlestone, Maloney, Clucas

  • Forwards:- Hernandez, Diomande

Chris Smalling is fit again and could make his first start of the season for Manchester United, although Jose Mourinho appears to prefer Daley Blind as a defensive partner for Eric Bailly. Summer signings Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are expected to start again, with Ibrahimovic having started his United career in fine form. The fourth new arrival of the summer, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, is likely to have to wait a little longer for his first start for the club.

Manchester United likely XI:

  • Goalkeeper:- De Gea

  • Defenders:- Valencia, Bailly, Blind, Shaw

  • Midfielders:- Pogba, Fellaini, Mata, Rooney, Martial

  • Forwards:- Ibrahimovic

United are going to be very hard to stop in the Premier League this season, but Hull have been surprisingly solid so far, with only a dodgy penalty against champions Leicester City preventing them from winning both of their games with clean sheets. On paper, United have far too much power in midfield and quality in attack for Hull, but the Tigers have pulled off two shock results this season and will be confident of making it three in a row. A draw could be possible despite United\'s status as strong favourites.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored in every match he has played for Manchester United so far.
