Spurs’ win against Fulham earlier this season was their 50th in 97 previous matches against Fulham. Fulham have won 18 and there have been 29 draws. Since Fulham’s Premier League relegation in 2014, the two teams only met once before this season – Harry Kane scoring a hat-trick in the FA Cup fifth round in 2017. Kane put the seal on the win earlier this season too, after Lucas Moura and Kieran Trippier had netted either side of Aleksandar Mitrovic’s equaliser.

Tottenham Hotspur need to bounce back from their defeat to Manchester United, and will have to do so without their two top scorers in Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.
There are plenty of goals in this team, however – as proved by the 23 goals they had scored in six previous games before the blank last weekend.
Christian Eriksen can provide plenty, while Fernando Llorente has a lot to prove up front – if, indeed, he is handed a chance to start in Kane’s absence.
Fulham’s defence has been shaky, even with some improvements under Claudio Ranieri and the fact they lost without conceding a shot on target last weekend – and having taken an early lead – sums up their current predicament.
With two wins in 14 games, and defeat to Oldham in the FA Cup among their recent losses, Fulham have struggled this season – there is no doubting that.
Spurs could not have asked for a better game to help get them back to winning ways despite their injuries, in truth, and anything less than a Spurs win would be a big surprise.
Tottenham should get back to winning ways against Fulham and are a best price of 3/4 with Bet365, Betfair and Betway to do so.
Fulham have scored in each of their last three defeats, however, and both teams to score has been set at 20/23 with Betfair, while a Spurs win and BTTS is 13/5 with Bet365, Ladbrokes, Betfair and 888sport.
You can also get 22/25 from 888sport on there being over 2.5 goals which, despite Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min’s absences, could be a good bet, whether Fulham net or not.
In the absence of those two top scorers, Fernando Llorente has a huge point to prove. The Spaniard is 31/20 with 888sport to score at any time.
Tottenham need to get back to winning ways but, against struggling Fulham, anything other than that outcome would be a surprise – regardless of Spurs’ injury/internationals situation.
Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is close to a return from an ankle injury and could face Spurs, though Calum Chambers and Jean-Michael Seri seem to set to hard in the holding midfield places. Alfie Mawson is definitely out but Claudio Ranieri otherwise has a full-strength squad to choose from.
Aleksandar Mitrovic – The Serbian may have been quieter of late, and missed a penalty against Oldham, but he is still top scorer with eight goals this season.
Andre Schurrle – Opened the scoring against Burnley last time out – his sixth goal of the season on loan from Borussia Dortmund.
Sergio Rico – With Spurs missing their two top scorers, the Spanish keeper needs a good performance and the tension up front for Tottenham will grow.
Fulham have lost all three games they have played since Aleksandar Mitrovic’s late winner against Huddersfield Town and now have just two wins in their last 14 in all competitions. Aboubakar Kamara’s goal counted for nothing in a 4-1 defeat to Arsenal on New Year’s Day, before their shock FA Cup defeat at home to Oldham – despite taking the lead through Dennis Odoi and seeing Mitrovic miss a penalty. Last weekend, Andre Schurrle gave them an early lead at Burnley but, despite not conceding a single shot on target, Fulham contrived to lose 2-1 after two own goals.
There is never a good time for your captain, top scorer and star man to suffer an injury, but Harry Kane could not have picked a worse time to be sidelined given Son Heung-Min is away on international duty at the Asian Cup too. Lucas Moura is also a doubt, which could mean Fernando Llorente starting up front. Vincent Jansson is also fit again after his long-term injury worries and represents another attacking option. Eric Dier could return but Victor Wanyama is definitely out and Moussa Sissoko is unlikely to be fit after his groin injury.
Fernando Llorente – If he does start up front, he will not get a better chance to prove his worth to Spurs than over the next two months. He needs goals.
Christian Eriksen – Talking of goals, the Danish playmaker has provided plenty with eight assists this season and six for himself too.
Dele Alli – With Son also away, the attacking midfielder needs to step up and add to his six goals for the season.
Spurs have lost two of their last five matches, having won four in a row before that. After two big wins and 11 goals over Christmas, Spurs suffered a surprise defeat at home to Wolves – losing 3-1 despite Harry Kane having given them the lead. They bounced back by beating Cardiff 3-0, with Kane, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-Min on the scoresheet before Fernando Llorente hit a hat-trick in a 7-0 thrashing of League Two Tranmere in the FA Cup. Kane scored the only goal of their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Chelsea from the spot, but they could not beat David de Gea last weekend as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.
