EFC vs NUFC Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Everton are at ½, a draw is at 10/3, and Newcastle are at 5/1.

Everton starts this midweek round in 11th place following yet another successful venture to London against West Ham on Saturday.  They rarely lose there, and their point means they have still lost just once in the league since Silva was sacked.  They sit on 29 points in the standings for now, putting them seven above Villa in 18th.  Even the most cynical of fans will surely not believe they are in danger now, especially seeing as how they have taken ten points from the last 15 on offer.

Newcastle, on the other hand, will be on the same total of points but will sit just one spot below their hosts here following what can only be described as a smash-and-grab raid at home to Chelsea on Saturday.  Regardless of how they did it, they accomplished victory and that now has them a further three away from the drop zone than they might have been.  In their last two games, they have four points, so things are clicking again there on Tyneside.

The Toffees’ home form thus far has been far from woeful and has been one of the best in the entire division.  They have taken 20 points from 11 games, via six wins and two draws.  Ten of those 20 points have come in the last three matches alone, so is the step up they have taken.  As for the Magpies, they have not been the greatest of traveling shows thus far.  They have managed to get ten points, via three wins and a draw, from 11 matches.  Only one win and four points have come in their last five, though, so that’s a bit of a problem spot.

Betfair have Everton scoring first at 1.36.

Ladbrokes have no for both sides scoring at 4/5.

Everton vs Newcastle Prediction

These ‘short’ weeks can be very rough on the bodies, and that could be just what costs Newcastle here.  They did get a big won over Chelsea on Saturday, but the injuries tax them to large degree in this one.

Correct Score Prediction: Everton 2-0 Newcastle

Everton Team News

Carlo Ancelotti will be without Jean Gbamin, Michael Keane, Andre Gomes, and Gylfi Sigurdsson due to injuries.  Alex Iwobi and Richarlison could be back to supplement the attack, but that remains to be seen at this point and is just a possibility.

Everton Key Man

Under no circumstances should the Toffees take Dominic Calvert-Lewin out of the side right now.  The young striker has truly hit his stride and has now racked up nine goals so far following his equalizer to earn a point on Saturday.  It doesn’t get much better than than at such a young age.  Full back will have to, surely, play a big part in this outcome as well, and a man to watch there is Luca Digne.  The Frenchman has produced some great crosses and set pieces, and they will look for more of the same here.

Everton Team Form

The Toffees have a draw, two wins, and two losses in their last five matches:

1-1 draw at West Ham
1-0 home win vs Brighton
1-0 loss at Liverpool (FA Cup)
2-1 loss at Manchester City
1-2 win at Newcastle

Everton Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 5-3-2

Newcastle Team News

Steve Bruce has a rash of players out injured, with Dwight Gayle, Javi Manquillo, Jack Colback, Yoshi Muto, DeAndre Yedlin, Ki Sung-Yeung, Paul Dummett, and Jetro Willems all out of the running.  Andy Carroll could play a role here following his latest issue.

Newcastle Key Man

With Carroll being a question mark, yet again, you have to think the emphasis will be put on set pieces and counters.  Miguel Almiron finally saw his scoring streak end on Saturday, but the fact that more players will be aware of him could actually help the team free up much needed space.  That is where Joelinton comes into play.  He’s endured a tough time of it so far, but his gaffer keeps on sticking with him, leading you to believe that his time will come sooner or later down the line.

Newcastle Team Form

The Magpies have two wins, two draws, and a loss in their last five matches:

1-0 home win vs Chelsea
4-1 home win vs Rochdale (FA Cup)
1-1 draw at Wolves
1-1 draw at Rochdale (FA Cup)
0-3 home loss vs Leicester

Newcastle Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 5-4-1

Everton just don't lose a whole lot against Newcastle, at least here recently, and we expect to see that trend keep up. Ancelotti has the boat pointed in the right direction, and though there has been some turbulence here and there, this match looks like a decent chance for them to get three more on the board. The Tynesiders don't travel all that well, and they will find it difficult to turn around quickly given their lack of squad options right now.
Everton have lost just once in their last eight matches against Newcastle (6W, 1D).
