EFC vs CFC Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Everton are at +300, a draw is at +250, and a Chelsea win is at -110.

Everton will begin the weekend down in 11th place with 37 points from 30 matches.  While it’s more than enough, you’d think to stay up rather easily, this is not the sort of showing many were expecting from the Toffees this term.  After so much investment and finally getting their preferred manager, they were supposed to be closer to the top six sides.  That’s not happened, but they are still within a chance of finishing in seventh, though that hope is also fading.  They have only one win and four points from their last five matches, showing a real lack of form.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will come into this weekend still well within the battle for the top four and the vaunted Champions League places.  If they should fail in the league, they still have the Europa League route to boost them.  With that said, they are sitting in sixth in the PL with 57 points so far.  They start their weekend just three points off the UCL slots, so this race is far from over. They can’t afford to drop any points, though, by the looks of things, so they can’t let their guard down or let tired legs hinder them.  They’ve got three wins from their last five and ten points from the last 15 on offer but did draw with Wolves last time out in the league.

At home, the Toffees have been middling at best this season.  As things sit ahead of the weekend, they have taken 22 points from 15 matches.  They have barely won more than they have lost (six and five), and that is a real worry.  If you’re going to contend for European places, you have to have strong home form and theirs can only be called mild.  They have particularly struggled in the last five matches, winning just one of them and only collecting a possible four out of 15 points.  However, one point was against rivals Liverpool, so underlines that they can compete with the better sides.

The Blues have had a decent record away from home so far this season, but they have lost a heck of a lot of games, too.  Five of their six defeats have come on their travels, suggesting that this is where they have fallen off the wagon after such a strong start to the season.  They’ve also given up a goal and a half on average when playing away, making it tough to outscore and get victories.  In their last five matches, they have six points (via two wins) on the road.  They lost the middle three matches, so it’s not like they are in the best of form ahead of this match.

No for both teams to score, via Ladbrokes, is at 21/20.

Betfair have Higuain at 2.3 to score anytime.

Everton vs Chelsea Prediction

Historically speaking, it’s been an uphill climb for Everton against Chelsea.  If they can’t get goals, it will be tough to overcome their visitors.  Chelsea are good enough to find a goal or two, staying firmly entrenched in that top four race.

Correct Score Prediction: Everton 0-2 Chelsea

Everton Team News

Marco Silva remains without left back Leighton Baines for the time being, but other than that looks to have a full side to pick from as he looks to prove why he should stay in charge.

Everton Key Man

Inexplicable lead-wasting aside, the early portion of their match with Newcastle went just to plan.  Richarlison got back on the scoring sheet again, notching his 11th goal of the season.  Played in his more natural wing role, this is perhaps the best place to play him in order to get the utmost from him.  Dominic Calvert-Lewin also registered a goal, showing Silva that he might just need to persist with him up front to lead the line.  The youngster is still inconsistent, but after his sixth PL goal of the season, he will hope to kick on and nail down his starting XI spot.

Everton Team Form

Everton have three losses, a draw, and a win in their last five matches:

3-2 loss at Newcastle
0-0 home draw vs Liverpool
0-3 win at Cardiff
1-0 loss at Watford
0-2 home loss vs Manchester City

Everton Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Chelsea Team News

Maurizio Sarri has no major injuries to members of his main squad ahead of this match, so he should have a full team to pick from.  However, he could rotate slightly after the big win in Ukraine.

Chelsea Key Man

Chelsea haven’t scored in their last two outings against Everton, but Eden Hazard has had success against them before, though nearly three years back, by scoring twice in 2016 at the Bridge.  He’s one of their best players and will be looking to finish out the season and perhaps his Blues career strong.  Also leading the line will be Gonzalo Higuain.  The Argentine has had a roller coaster start but is starting to lock in to form, and if that occurs, then Chelsea might just be favorites to land that fourth place spot- or even better.

Chelsea Team Form

Chelsea have four wins and a draw in their last five matches:

0-5 win at Dynamo Kiev (UEL)
1-1 home draw vs Wolves
3-0 home win vs Dynamo Kiev (UEL)
1-2 win at Fulham
2-0 home win vs Tottenham

Chelsea Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

With Champions League qualification being so vital, you just get the feeling that this match is going to be uber important to Chelsea. Everton are getting close to that holiday sort of territory. They held Liverpool back with a draw, and that could be just the last bit of motivation to be had. They've struggled in recent years against Chelsea, and despite the Blues' European adventures, they have to be favored on the road.
Everton have scored just once in their last six matches in all competitions against Chelsea. In their last five PL matches, they have not found the net against the Blues from London.
