England vs Montenegro Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

England are at 1/14 to win, a draw is at 10/1, and a Montenegro win is at 25/1.

Group A sees England on top at the moment with 15 points out of a possible 18, making them three points above Czech Republic.  With a win, England will move on no matter what.  Meanwhile, Kosovo are in third with 11 points after six outings, meaning they still have a ton to play for.  Both Montenegro and Bulgaria are only on three and have played seven times, so they are no longer much of a factor.

England will come into this match in quite a good mood.  They did lose for the first time in a long time in a qualifier back in the last round of international fixtures, against the Czechs, but they rebounded to hammer Bulgaria and take control yet again.  They have constantly scored goals for fun in the group, so that bodes well for them here.  In the last year, they have seven wins, a win on penalties, and two losses.  At home, they have won all five affairs.

Montenegro, meanwhile, find themselves in a bit of a rebuilding mode having flamed out in qualification this time around.  In fact, they haven’t had the kind of year to write home about.  They have just one win to go along with three draws and six losses, making it a hard time to support them for sure.  They will hope better days are ahead, but it will be tough here as they have three losses and a draw away from home in the calendar year.

Ladbrokes have no for both sides scoring at 2/5.

Kane scoring anytime is at 1.25 via Betfair.

England vs Montenegro Match Prediction

The Three Lions have been super impressive in qualifying thus far, for the most part, and it would be very unlike them to not take full chances to go through here.  They smash the visitors and advance to the tournament proper, as expected.

Correct Score Prediction: England 4-0 Montenegro

ENG Team News

Gareth Southgate has been unable to call in goalkeeper Tom Heaton, defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, or midfielders Jesse Lingard or Ross Barkley to the squad due to injuries.  Michael Keane also misses out in defence, while Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain earns a recall and James Maddison got a call up.

ENG Key Man

Raheem Sterling might not have left Anfield with the kind of result or performance he would have wanted, but that means it is hard to see him being held back for two matches in a row.  He scored twice in another race-infused fixture in Bulgaria and he had one against Montenegro in the reverse fixture as well.  Harry Kane also comes into this match hoping he can turn around his club form with a strong showing for his nation.  He scored once and assisted twice in the win over Bulgaria and has six total in the group to date.

ENG Team Form

England have three wins, a loss, and a draw in their last five matches:

0-6 win at Bulgaria
2-1 loss at Czech Republic
5-3 home win vs Kosovo
4-0 home win vs Bulgaria
0-0 draw, penalty win vs Switzerland (UNL)

England Predicted Starting Line-up

Expected Line-up: 4-3-3

MNE Team News

Faruk Hadzibegic will be glad that goalkeeper Danijel Petkovic has been cleared to play here after he went off injured after a quarter hour against Kosovo last month.  Key defenders Adam Marusic and Stefan Savic are out due to injuries along with striker Stevan Jovetic, once again, and midfielder Aleksandar Scekic.

MNE Key Man

The goals, and results because of the lack of them, have not been flowing so far, but there is a little sliver of hope with Stefan Mugosa up front.  He’s not Jovetic, but he does have two goals so far in the group to lead the side and has a lot of experience that can certainly trouble England.  In the midfield, Nikola Vukcevic is one to watch.  The 27 year-old is part of a solid Levante side in Spain currently and he’ll look to give the Three Lions midfield something to think about in the center of the park.

MNE Team Form

Montenegro have three losses, a draw, and a win in their last five matches:

2-0 loss at Kosovo
0-0 home draw vs Bulgaria
0-3 home loss vs Czech Republic
2-1 home win vs Hungary (Fri)
3-0 loss at Czech Republic

Montenegro Predicted Starting Line-up

Expected Line-up: 4-4-2

It's been a long and interesting campaign for England, to say the least, but it all looks to be coming to a close now. Montenegro are not playing well of late, and they are going on the road here to a team that dominated and picked them apart in their own backyard. That bodes well for England, who should do what they need to move on. They are just the much better side, and that will show through.
England have never lost to Montenegro since they got their independence. They have two wins and three draws thus far.
