Our Prediction Tip

Chelsea will win this match.

This is the first season in which Chelsea and Lille have met in European football, with the Blues winning their first meeting 2-1 in France. Victor Osimhen cancelled out Tammy Abraham’s opener, but Willian’s winner earned the Premier League side all three points.

CFC vs LOSC Betting Tips

Despite their blip, Chelsea are still favourites to beat Lille and book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Frank Lampard has been handed the boost of Chelsea’s transfer ban being reduced but his current charges have proved their worth.

Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount – the two goalscorers in Chelsea’s win against Aston Villa – are central to that, but Christian Pulisic, Fikayo Tomori and most recently Reece James have proved their worth too.

Lille, on the other hand, might have got back to form with three consecutive 1-0 wins, but their overall form this season has been poor.

Victor Osimhen’s goals in recent matches have fired the Ligue 1 side back to winning ways, but Chelsea have the attacking quality to break down that stubborn defence.

The Blues’ own defensive worries remain a concern, but Lille have not been full of goals themselves – particularly in European football.

If Chelsea can get at Lille, and grab an early goal, their place in the last 16 should be sealed as expected.

Lille vs Chelsea Recommended bets with odds

Chelsea are huge odds-on favourites to beat Lille at a best price of 2/9 with Ladbrokes.

The Blues’ defensive concerns means both teams to score at 6/5 with Betway and Bet365 is a tempting price, meanwhile.

Over 2.5 goals, meanwhile, is just 8/15 with Bet365.

Tammy Abraham can be backed at 3/5 with 888sport to score at any time, meanwhile.

Chelsea vs Lille Prediction

Chelsea are still searching for their first home win in the UEFA Champions League and a match against the European champions is unlikely to provide that.

Correct Score Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 Lille

Chelsea Team News

Antonio Rudiger is close to a return from injury and could even make the squad for this game. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is no nearer recovery, however. Fikayo Tomori could come back into the starting line-up last time out.

Chelsea Key Players

Tammy Abraham – Continued his fine goalscoring season when he netted against former loan club Aston Villa in mid-week – his 12th Chelsea goal of the campaign.
Christian Pulisic – The rising American star has been in excellent form after a slow start to the season, to form a key part of the attacking quartet.
Mason Mount – Scored his fifth goal of the season in the win against Aston Villa in mid-week, having also netted for England last month too.

Chelsea Team Form

Chelsea have won just one of their last five matches in all competitions – Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount scoring their goals in a 2-1 win against Aston Villa. They lost 1-0 at home to West Ham prior to that, however, and then 3-1 to Everton last weekend – Mateo Kovacic scoring their goal.

Chelsea Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Lille Team News

Timothy Weah remains a long-term injury absentee, while Domagoj Bradaric has returned at left-back in place of Reinildo Mandava lately. Xeka returned to the team at the weekend and it will be between him and Boubakary Soumare for the holding midfield spot.

Lille Key Players

Victor Osimhen – Scored twice in the last three games to move to 11 goals in all competitions this season, including Lille’s when these teams last met.
Jonathan Ikone – Scored the winner against Lyon and set up Lille’s only goal against Brest last time out too.
Renato Sanches – After struggling to live up to expectations after Euro 2016, the Portuguese winger has another chance on the big stage to prove he has turned the corner.

Lille Team Form

Lille lost their last Champions League game 2-0 at home to Ajax, but have won three from three in the league since – all by a single goal. Victor Osimhen scored the winner against both Dijon and Brest, while it was Jonathan Ikone that netted the winner away to Lyon.

Lille Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Chelsea have hit a blip lately, including their defeat to managerless Everton last weekend, but the Blues are big favourites to take all three points from this game and seal their Champions League last-16 place. Lille's form in the competition is poor, and though they have got back to winning ways domestically lately, it is difficult to back them away at Stamford Bridge.
Lille are without a win in this season's competition, scoring just three goals in their five games so far.
