Brighton & Hove will win this match.
Since Brighton joined Bournemouth in the Premier League, the two teams have met each other five times – three times in the league and once in each of the two domestic cups. Brighton won their FA Cup third round meeting in January, but it was their first win against the Cherries for 11 years. Anthony Knockaert, Yves Bissouma and Florin Andone all scored for the Seagulls, with Marc Pugh getting the hosts reply. In this season’s reverse league fixture, David Brooks scored twice in a 2-0 Bournemouth win, while Brighton had Lewis Dunk for a second bookable offence.
Here are the results of their last five competitive matches:
Jan 05, 2019: AFC Bournemouth 1-3 Brighton & Hove Albion
Dec 22, 2018: AFC Bournemouth 2-0 Brighton & Hove Albion
Jan 01, 2018: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-2 AFC Bournemouth
Sep 19, 2017: AFC Bournemouth 1-0 Brighton & Hove Albion
Sep 15, 2017: AFC Bournemouth 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton’s FA Cup dream ended in the semi-finals at Wembley against Manchester City and focus now turns to their primary season’s goal – staying in the Premier League.
They are five points clear of Cardiff City but know they need to get back to winning ways to ensure they avoid being sucked into a relegation dog fight – and this is a big chance to do just that.
Bournemouth have lost 11 of their last 12 matches on the road and have only won one in nine home or away.
That win was at struggling Huddersfield too, and Brighton will hope they can follow what fellow relegation rivals Burnley did last weekend and beat the Cherries.
Glenn Murray’s goals have been vital to the Seagulls again this season and the striker will be the man to watch, while the likes of Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Anthony Knockaert provide attacking options with him.
Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk will look to keep Callum Wilson and Josh King quiet at the back, while Bournemouth’s injury list means there are fewer options to change things up after last weekend’s defeat too.
Bournemouth have a good record against Brighton in the league but this could be the day Brighton set the record straight.
It is difficult to back Bournemouth given their struggles on the road and their poor overall form of late – Brighton know this a big chance to take all three points.
Brighton are favourites to beat Bournemouth at home, given the Cherries’ poor away record, but you can still back the hosts at 27/20 with 888sport.
Both sides know they have strikers capable of scoring big goals, however – Wilson for Bournemouth and Murray for Brighton – and both teams to score has been set at 4/5 with Ladbrokes and Betfair.
Over 2.5 goals has been set at 21/20 with 888sport, while Brighton to win and BTTS is worth a best price of 15/4 with Bet365 and 888sport.
Glenn Murray is 7/5 to score at any time for Brighton, while Callum Wilson is 15/8 for Bournemouth, both with 888sport.
Brighton need to get back to winning ways if they are to pull away from the drop zone but they face a Bournemouth team out of form and particularly poor away from home. This is a big chance for the Seagulls.
Pascal Gross did not return in time to face Chelsea and Manchester City, but he could bolster the midfield, while Solly March (calf) is also looking to prove his fitness. Jose Izquierdo, Florin Andone and Jurgen Locadia had to make do with places on the bench at Wembley but could all be in contention for a return.
Glenn Murray – The big striker has scored 13 goals so far this season and will be imperative in the run-in as the Seagulls look to pull clear of the drop zone.
Anthony Knockaert – Voted man of the match at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final, the Frenchman’s trickery and creativity are key for Brighton.
Shane Duffy – As well as Brighton’s second highest goalscorer this season, the Irish defender has formed a good partnership at the back with Lewis Dunk.
Brighton have lost their last three matches without scoring, though that includes a league fixture away to Chelsea and the FA Cup semi-final with Manchester City. They lost their most recent league fixture 1-0 at home to Southampton, before a 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge and another 1-0 loss at Wembley.
Eddie Howe has confirmed Charlie Daniels will be out long-term, while Andrew Surman could also miss the rest of the season. The Cherries’ manager has not set a return date for long-term absentees Lewis Cook and Simon Francis either, while Diego Rico – who replaced Nathaniel Clyne at half-time against Burnley – is also now ruled out.
Josh King – A quiet season by the standards he has previously set, but the Norway striker scored twice the last time Bournemouth took a point in the league.
Callum Wilson – Earned an England call-up on the back of his form in the early part of the season and opened the scoring in Bournemouth’s most recent away win.
Ryan Fraser – The Scottish winger scored his seventh goal of the season in the win against Huddersfield and has also contributed 11 assists this season.
Bournemouth have won just one of their last nine matches – a 2-0 victory at Huddersfield a month ago courtesy of Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser’s goals. They drew with Newcastle next up – conceding a late equaliser after Josh King’s double looked to have earned them a comeback win – and have lost both matches since the international break. A 2-0 defeat at Leicester was followed, last weekend, by a 3-1 home loss to Burnley despite an own goal handing them an early lead.
