Our Prediction Tip

Brazil will win this match.

In 18 clashes, Peru have only managed to grab two wins and three draws against Brazil.  Twice in the summer at the Copa America the Selecao won out, though the second wasn’t nearly as bad as the first.

Here's a look at the last five results:

Jul 7, 2019: Brazil 3-1 Peru (Copa America)
Jun 22, 2019: Peru 0-5 Brazil (COA)
Nov 15, 2016: Peru 0-2 Brazil (WCQ)
Jun 12, 2015: Brazil 0-1 Peru (COA)
Nov 17, 2015: Brazil 3-0 Peru (WCQ)

BRA vs PER Betting Tips and Odds

Brazil didn’t begin their post- Copa America tour as well as they might have hoped for, but it’s far from awful to draw against Colombia, particularly when you have fallen behind.  They will be a little upset they gave up a lead, however, so that will sting a bit.  This is just a team that are so good and will end up, in many people’s eyes, back where they belong: on top of the stand at the World Cup.  In the last year, they have 12 wins, a win on penalties, and three draws.  Pure dominance.

Peru have had a heck of a summer, but it is one that came pretty much out of nowhere.  Few expected them to get to the Final of the Copa America, but they achieved it in remarkable fashion.  And to have hung in there and made Brazil sweat as they did was also an accomplishment.  Outside of that success, though, they have had a very mixed year.  They have five wins, a win on penalties, two draws, and seven losses to show.

Brazil vs Peru Prediction

Peru are doing well for what they have, but it’s just not on par with Brazil, especially seeing as how the Selecao just drew their last match.  You just don’t see the yellow and blue drop two results in a row very often.

Correct Score Prediction: Brazil 2-0 Peru

Brazil Team News

Tite has generally stuck to the same group of players, even in friendlies, so it’s hard to imagine he will stray too far.  With that said, he could make a couple of changes.  One of them could be to put Philippe Coutinho back in the front three having played him in midfield.  Forward Gabriel Jesus is the main man that was not included in the team, as well as usual #1 goalkeeper Alisson, who is out injured.

Brazil Key Man

It had been a long time coming, but Neymar is officially back, as he showed against Colombia on Friday night.  The PSG man, the center of plenty of summer controversy, got on the score sheet and also assisted on the opening goal, proving just how vital he is to the team… when he’s healthy.  Casemiro scored the first goal for them, provided by Neymar, changing the minds of a few that believe he is merely stationed as defensive midfielder.  While that is his main job, of course, he showed he can go beyond that.

Brazil Team Form

Brazil have two draws and three wins in their last five matches:

2-2 draw vs Colombia
3-1 home win vs Peru (Copa America)
2-0 home win vs Argentina (COA)
0-0 home draw, penalty win vs Paraguay (COA)
0-5 home win vs Peru (COA)

Peru Team News

Ricardo Gareca has called in a fairly familiar squad here, but there are some changes.  Mainstays like Jefferson Farfan and Paulo Guerrero are both out of the team, with the two veterans perhaps getting close to calling time on their storied international careers.  Midfielder Paolo Hurtado is also out due to an injury.

Peru Key Man

Raul Ruidiaz may not be a hugely popular name known the world over, but he’s shown his worth plenty for the Seattle Sounders in MLS recently.  The 29 year-old has become a solid pro in the American league, and he’ll look to see if he can use that momentum to notch a fifth goal in what could be his 43rd appearance for his country.  In midfield, they have a man in Edison Flores that has quietly been amassing a great career for himself.  At 25, the Morelia man has already racked up 49 caps and has 13 goals to his name to show he’s got a lot of tricks up his sleeves.

Peru Team Form

Peru have three losses, a win, and a draw in their last five matches:

0-1 home loss vs Ecuador
3-1 loss at Brazil (Copa America)
0-3 win vs Chile (COA)
0-0 draw, penalty win vs Uruguay (COA)
0-5 loss at Brazil (COA)

Peru Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

No matter what you might have to say, it's going to be hard to justify picking Peru here. They are a fine side, one that fights well above their weight, but that is not nearly enough to overcome this Brazil team. Brazil are still yet to prove they are back among the very best teams in the world, but they have certainly shown they reign supreme in South America. They show just why that is here with another win over the Peruvians.
Brazil won both matches between these two sides at this summer's Copa America, including the final, and doing so by an aggregate total of 8-1.
