Bournemouth have beaten Spurs just once since their Premier League promotion in 2015, with their 3-2 loss at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November their seventh in that time. After a 1-0 home win towards the end of last season, when Spurs were reduced to nine men, this time around they suffered a 3-2 defeat. Tottenham Hotspur have looked unconvincing at best, both before and after lockdown, as Jose Mourinho struggles to get his players motivated.
That Son Heung-Min and Hugo Lloris’ recent clash was seen as beautiful by Mourinho sums up the issues at the moment – he wants passion but he is not seeing enough.
That said, they did at least beat Everton 1-0 and, having also beaten West Ham recently, have two wins from their last three games.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, are winless in their last eight matches and have taken just one point in that time – losing the other seven, including all four since the season restarted.
Clearly the Cherries are in a slump and it is hard to see how they are going to get out of it.
They go into the latest round of fixtures just one point from safety but their dreadful form makes it seem much further away than that.
Another defeat would further harm their chances of staying up, but it is hard to see any other result given their latest results.
Nine goals conceded on the way to their last two defeats has hurt their goal difference considerably too and Eddie Howe’s team look bound for relegation.
Spurs have not been that impressive themselves, but they should still claim all three points from this match.

Harry Kane has scored twice since his return from injury and he is 19/20 with 888sport and Ladbrokes to score any time in this game.
Spurs are unconvincing but they are still favourites to win this game against out-of-form Bournemouth.
A knee injury ruled Chris Mepham out last time out but he could return this time. Andrew Surman is a doubt with a knock, while Steve Cook is out with a thig injury and Jack Stacey has also been added to the injury list. Callum Wilson is back from his ban though.
Josh King – Scored from the spot last time out and his goals will be key to any slim chance Bournemouth have of beating the drop.
Harry Wilson – The Liverpool loanee scored twice when these teams last met and the Welshman can be tricky to deal with on the wing.
Aaron Ramsdale – Nine goals conceded in two games needs a response. Can he lead the defence to an improved performance this time?
Bournemouth’s losing streak continued last time out as they suffered a 5-2 defeat to Manchester United. They opened the scoring through Junior Stanislas but were 3-1 down at half-time and Josh King’s penalty only offered brief hope of a comeback before United sealed victory. They had previously lost 4-1 to Newcastle and have lost four from four since football restarted.
Dele Alli was not risked against Everton and will be assessed ahead of this match. Juan Foyth and Japhet Tangana are also out.
Harry Kane – Goals against West Ham and Sheffield United got the England captain back on the scoresheet and he will want more now.
Son Heung-Min – Set up those two Harry Kane goals and despite his clash with Hugo Lloris last time out, he remains a key player.
Toby Alderweireld – Returned at the back and Spurs kept a clean sheet, which highlights what he can add to the backline.
Tottenham have been unconvincing but two wins in their last three games at least points to some improvement. They beat Everton last time out, when Giovani Lo Celso’s shot deflected in off Michael Keane. The 1-0 win helped them bounce back from a 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United.
