Bayern Munich will win this match.
These two sides have been meeting for years in the Bundesliga, with Bayern naturally getting the upper hand. Indeed, they have not tasted defeat in some 18 matches against Bremen; a run which features an incredible 13 straight wins from 2010 to the present day.

Given that Bayern lost just one match at the Allianz Arena in more than 20 appearances in all competitions, it is almost impossible to make a case for the hapless Werder to breach such a fortress.
As if it was scarcely possible, the Munich side are even stronger today than they at this point a year ago. The talented Mario Gotze has left for Dortmund, but in his place has come Renato Sanches, who was named the best young player at Euro 2016. Given the emergence of Kingsley Coman and Julian Green, plus the ageless performances of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, Gotze’s loss may pass by without a blink of the eye. Mats Hummels, the rugged centre back, has joined and will form a pretty formidable looking partnership with Jerome Boateng at the heart of the defence.
Sadly for them, Werder have had to try and replace two of their key players – Jannik Vestergaard and Anthony Ujah – who have both left for pastures new. The reinforcements don’t appear at first glance to be an improvement, which suggests another season of turmoil is on the cards for the greens.
This isn’t a question of will Bayern win; it’s a question of by how many.
Clearly, the 1/7 odds about Bayern winning this match are completely prohibitive to punters; unless you have a monumental bankroll that is. So we need to investigate different ways of securing value from this match, and there are a few options. Over 3.5 Goals is available at 20/29, and given that six of the last eight meetings between these two have gone Over 2.5 that has to worthy of consideration.
Can Bayern overcome a two-goal headstart? Well, just look at a selection of their most recent scorelines against Werder: 4-1, 6-1, 7-0, 5-2, 6-0 and 5-0, to name a few. Yes, it is early days in the Bundesliga and there may be some rustiness, but the recent past suggests that the reigning champions can demolish Bremen at will. Take the 5/6 on them to overturn a -2 handicap.
After dominating all that came before them in 2015/16, Bayern will be looking to get the new Bundesliga campaign off to the best possible start when they welcome Werder Bremen to the Allianz Arena on Friday night.

It was a disappointing 2015/16 for Werder to say the very least, and they only avoided relegation on the final day of the campaign with a 1-0 win over Frankfurt. They will be hoping for more this time around, but after losing two of their key players it could be another nine months of torture for their supporters.
