Arsenal were in good form until their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, which leaves them adrift in the race for European qualification.
With an FA Cup semi-final at the weekend too, the Gunners may have their attentions elsewhere, which will only help a Liverpool team who were already favourites for this one.

Eddie Nketiah is still suspended and Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi remain out of favour. Pablo Mari and Bernd Leno are long-term absentees still, as is Gabriel Martinelli.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – The Gabonese striker has 20 league goals to his name this season but he needs a strong finish if he is to win another Golden Boot.

Arsenal’s winning run ended with a 1-1 draw with Leicester – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring but Eddie Nketiah was sent off and Leicester and grabbed a late equaliser. In the match against Tottenham, meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring but the Gunners fell to a 2-1 derby defeat to drop below Spurs into ninth in the table.
Neco Williams has been handed starts at left-back and right-back in the last two games, but Liverpool could be back to full strength at the back for this one. Curtis Jones also started last time out and caught the eye, but Naby Keita will be pushing for a recall. James Milner is sidelined again, while Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson are out until next season now.
Sadio Mane – Not only has the Senegalese forward scored 16 goals in 32 league games, but he has so often scored hugely important goals too.
Mo Salah – Looking for a third consecutive golden boot, he has 19 goals so far and – like Aubameyang – needs a strong finish to the season.
Virgil van Dijk – The towering defender has been so key in matches like this since joining, and this is another game where Liverpool need the Dutch giant to come out on top.
Liverpool dropped points at home for the first time all season when Andy Robertson’s opener was cancelled out in a 1-1 draw with Burnley last time out. It followed Liverpool having to back to winning ways with victories against Aston Villa and Brighton in the wake of their 4-0 thrashing at Manchester City.
