Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:
Arsenal are at 4/9 to win, a draw is at 7/2, and an Everton win is at 11/2.
Arsenal began their season with a tough stretch against Manchester City and rivals Chelsea, and they ended up losing both games. But since then, Emery has gathered them back up and they have gotten their heads down and won three matches in a row to take them into seventh place early on with nine points. Crisis averted, if there ever was one to begin with. The Gunners clearly have a ton of work still left to be done, but they are headed in the right direction. The confidence installed in his team to play progressive football will pay off in this match and beyond.
Everton enter play having only lost once, in their last match, so far this season. However, they are only tenth because three of the other four games ended in draws. That puts them in the middle of the table simply due to a lack of know-how to close out games. They must improve not only tactically but also mentally in order to get to where they aspire. Silly fouls and red cards will not help them much, and you feel like certain players are always on a tight rope for them. Silva's tenure needs a kick start, and this would be the ideal place to get it for him.
Aubameyang to score twice or more is at Ladbrokes for 5/2.
No for both sides to score is at 2.4 at Betfair.
With all of the money that has been spent, Everton should be better than they are. Even still, they don't have a player nearly as capable as either of Arsenal's big-time forwards, and that will tell over the course of 90 minutes.
Unai Emery will be unable to call upon a decent number of players here for this fixture. Center back Laurent Koscielny is joined by right back Carl Jenkinson and left back Sead Kolasinac as defensive casualties. Versatile youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles is also set to miss out until mid-October at the earliest. The Spanish manager played quite a strong side in the Europa League on Thursday, but there will be some changes made here to keep the team fresh.
Emery will be pleased with the way his side attacked in the Europa League, and a good chunk of that is down to former Dortmund players. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice from his preferred central role. And though he's likely be shunted to the wing again, he's in great form out there as well for the Gunners. The other former BVB man that impressed was Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenian had two assists in the match, and could be just the supply line needed to get them hitting all cylinders.
Arsenal have four wins and a loss in their last five matches:
4-2 home win vs Vorskia (UEL)
1-2 win at Newcastle
2-3 win at Cardiff
3-1 home win vs West Ham
3-2 loss at Chelsea
Marco Silva continues to have injuries pile up for him. Center midfielders James McCarthy and Beni Baningime remain out, with defenders Phil Jagielka and Michael Keane set to need another week on the treatment table. There is hope that a trio of players in center back Yerry Mina, right back Seamus Coleman, and on-loan center midfielder Andre Gomes will be able to play, but it could prove to be touch-and-go for each.
It might be a big, big call to make, but we could see the Toffees play Richarlison up front in a 'false nine' role in this match. They most likely won't have as much of the ball playing away, so using his speed and ability on the ball could be suited quite well to the situation. He started ever so well with three goals before his suspension, and they'll hope he can pick back up where left off. Gylfi Sigurdsson is the player tasked with linking him with the back. The Icelandic midfielder scored a goal to get them back in the game last weekend, but it didn't prove to be enough for them in the end.
Everton have two losses, a draw, and two wins in their last five matches:
1-3 home loss vs West Ham
1-1 home draw vs Huddersfield
3-1 home win vs Rotherham (EFL Cup)
2-2 draw at Bournemouth
2-1 home win vs Southampton
