ARS FC vs BHAFC Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Arsenal are at 4/7, a draw is at 10/3, and Brighton are at 9/2.

Arsenal will start this midweek round of fixtures in eighth place with 19 points so far, putting them seven off the pace of Chelsea for the fourth and final Champions League place as things sit.  Interim manager Freddie Ljungberg insists they can make it to the top four, but it will take some work, especially on the defensive side.  They have let in 21 goals in 14 matches, giving them a -1 goal difference so far.  Plus, they have only four points in their last five outings, not nearly good enough at all.

As for Brighton, they will begin the midweek round down in 16th place.  They have bounced up and down a little bit, for sure, but they have now lost three in a row and are on 15 points, just three above the dreaded drop zone.  Two of those losses were against Leicester and Liverpool, back-to-back, so it’s not all bad, but they definitely need to find their way and be a tad more consistent if they want to skate away from relegation possibilities entirely.

The Gunners have disappointed greatly at home thus far, picking up 13 out of 21 points, but the good news is that they have yet to lose.  They have three wins and four draws, which does need fixing, but they just need to convert those to wins, and they could shoot back up the table again.  As for the Seagulls, they have struggled mightily on their travels.  They’ve picked up just four points from seven matches, via a win and a draw, and they come into this one having lost four in a row on the road.  They also have just a point out of the last 15 on offer, indicating safety might have to come via their home form.

Ladbrokes have both teams scoring at 4/7.

Betfair have Aubameyang scoring for 1.67.

Arsenal vs Brighton Prediction

Brighton will play attacking, attractive football and will try to take the game to the Gunners, but in the end they will get picked off and make one or two mistakes.  That frees up the home side to take maximum points… finally.

Correct Score Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Brighton

Arsenal Team News

Freddie Ljungberg has injuries that are currently keeping out midfielder Dani Ceballos and defenders Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding, though they do have a lot of other positives as they have a number of players to pick from.

Arsenal Key Man

If the Gunners didn’t thank their lucky stars for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, they should be doing so now.  His two goals kept them from another embarrassing loss last weekend, even if it was still just a draw.  One of them, a penalty, was as cool as you’d like, taking him up to ten on the season.  Goalkeeper Bernd Leno is another that deserves praise and thanks after he produced a number of big saves against the Canaries to keep them from the absurd result that almost befell them.  He’s made some mistakes here and there, but he was pure class in that showing.

Arsenal Team Form

Arsenal have three draws and two losses in their last five matches:

2-2 draw at Norwich
1-2 home loss vs Eintracht Frankfurt (UEL)
2-2 home draw vs Southampton
2-0 loss at Leicester
1-1 draw at Vitoria Guimaraes (UEL)

Arsenal Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-2-3-1

Brighton Team News

Graham Potter will be missing midfielders Solly March and Jose Izquierdo and left back Bernardo for this match in London.

Brighton Key Man

It didn’t end up going their way, but Brighton did give Liverpool a scare in the end on Saturday.  Part of that was due to center back Lewis Dunk.  It was not a classic finish, but he took the chance afforded to him, his second of the season.  He also has two assists and is routinely a big threat going forward, so that’s something to watch.  Up front, Neal Maupay, their top scorer with four so far, will be one to keep an eye on.  He’s not Aubameyang, but he can be a danger if given time and space, something players get more than they should against the Gunners.

Brighton Team Form

Brighton have three losses and two wins in their last five matches:

2-1 loss at Liverpool
0-2 home loss vs Leicester
3-1 loss at Manchester United
2-0 home win vs Norwich
3-2 home win vs Everton

Brighton Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-3-3

While Brighton do have a nice track record (recently) coming into this match, you've got to back Arsenal here. The Seagulls have not put together much of note when away from home, and on top of that, Arsenal need a big, big result. They didn't get that new manager 'bounce' in their first outing at Norwich, but they could just see that here. Not all is well in London, but they will navigate the waters and find a route to victory here.
Brighton come into this match on a run of sorts against the Gunners, having two draws and a win in the last three PL fixtures against their hosts.
