West Bromwich

Huddersfield Town

Our Prediction Tip

Huddersfield Town will win this match.

Huddersfield Town's 1-0 win in the reverse fixture in November saw Rajiv van la Parra score the winner in the first meeting between the two teams since West Brom won an FA Cup match 2-0 in January 2010. Prior to that, their last league meeting had been in the second tier in April 2001.

West Brom vs Huddersfield Town Betting Tips

West Brom are favourites for Saturday's game, but their poor home form has put them in trouble this season and the Premier League’s bottom club seem to be bouncing from one blow to another lately.

The Baggies are in big trouble, and Alan Pardew's side - so impressive in the FA Cup against Liverpool - have not looked like ending their losing streak in the league.

To have taken so few points at home is one of the critical factors in that, and after returning to winning ways themselves in the league, Huddersfield will see this is an opportunity to grab three points and climb away from trouble.

Aaron Mooy's injury is a big blow, but it is also a chance for Alex Pritchard to prove his worth.

Defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup can be written off, and if they get back to winning ways away at West Brom they will have to consider February a successful month on the back of it.

That is the exact opposite of the situation West Brom face, which is why it is so hard to back Alan Pardew’s troubled side.

West Brom vs Huddersfield Town Recommended bets with odds

West Brom are surprisingly low priced for Saturday's game, but with William Hill offering 19/20 on a home win it means you can get a good price on the visitors - Huddersfield are 17/5 with William Hill and 7/2 with Betfair.

Neither side have impressed defensively this season, and you can get 6/5 from Bet365, William Hill and Betfair on both teams to score.

After his match-winning performance against Bournemouth, meanwhile, it is surprising to see Steve Mounie as high as 3/1 to score at any time with Bet365 and Betfair.

Huddersfield are perfectly capable of upsetting the odds on Saturday, and that means plenty of chance to make a good profit on this game if they do - a Huddersfield win and BTTS is a massive 10/1 with Bet365 and Betfair.

West Brom vs Huddersfield Town Prediction

Huddersfield may have been in poor form themselves, but after returning to winning ways in style in their most recent league game, they can carry that to the Hawthorns where West Brom have the Premier League's worst home record this season.

Correct Score Prediction: West Brom 1-2 Huddersfield Town

Team News

Jonny Evans is set to regain the captaincy, stripped from him last weekend, despite being involved in the training camp incident in Barcelona. He and Gareth Barry both played in the FA Cup at the weekend, despite their indiscretions, as did Jay Rodriguez who is awaiting a hearing into alleged racist abuse towards Gaetan Bong of Brighton. Jake Livermore, also involved in the alleged taxi theft, is back from injury and could return to the bench, but James Morrison and Nacer Chadli are both still injured. Loan signing Danny Sturridge is also out, after picking up a hamstring injury, but Kieran Gibbs is fit again.

Key Players

Danny Sturridge returns to his old club keen to recapture some of his match sharpness after joining West Brom on loan. He missed an open goal on his debut against another former team, Manchester City, but he has shown in the past he can be prolific on his day.

Team Form

West Brom have lost all four matches they have played since a 3-2 FA Cup win at Anfield in the FA Cup fourth round. Their last two away games have seen them lose 3-0 to both Manchester City and Chelsea, while at home they have played Southampton twice and lost both times. The Saints won 3-2 in the league, and last weekend won 2-1 in the FA Cup despite Salomon Rondon's second-half goal.

West Brom Predicted Starting Line-up

Expected Line-up: 4-4-2

Team News

Huddersfield suffered a big injury blow last week, with Aaron Mooy picking up a knee injury. The Australian has been a key figure this season, but now joins Elias Kachunga on the injury list.

Key Players

Steve Mounie has now scored seven times since signing from Montpellier this season. He thought he had another in the 4-1 win against Bournemouth, but it was ruled as an own goal after the game. Fellow striker Laurent Depoitre has five.

Team Form

Huddersfield lost 2-0 at home to Manchester United in the FA Cup last weekend - their second defeat, by the same score, to United this month after also losing in the league at Old Trafford. In between, however, Huddersfield beat Birmingham City 4-1 in the FA Cup before a 4-1 home win against Bournemouth.

Huddersfield Town Predicted Starting Line-up

Expected Line-up: 5-3-2

Watford have a poor record in this fixture, not helped by their failure to protect a two-goal lead at Goodison Park earlier in the season - and then Tom Cleverley's stoppage-time penalty miss - in a 3-2 defeat. This is their chance for revenge, however - they thrashed Chelsea in their most recent home game, so expect more goals and a chance for a rare Watford win against Everton.
West Brom have the worst home record in the Premier League this season, having won just two of their 13 matches at the Hawthorns so far.
